whats the best way to seal up a leaking freeze plug behind the trans i dont want to pull my rebuilt motor and go through the same stuff i have already. i need to fix this problem because it is leaking on my clutch.

any cheap and easy tips ot tricks

Drain Oil
Remove trans
Clean leak really well with soap and water then acetone
JB Weld anywhere it could possibly leak
Let dry
Install tranny
Go

You can go the cheap way.just get a can of stop leak and use that. remember It's going to stop the water flow all over .(cooling system ) you might end up with overheating problems, water pump problems, heater core problems, and so on.If you get what I'm saying your better off doing the job right and replace the freeze out plug..

if you take the trans out why would you half ass it and use JBweld? why wouldn't you just REPLACE the frost plug?

He asked for a cheap, easy fix. Removing freeze plugs is a pain, especially with the engine still in the car. I use JB weld on all new freeze plugs so I don't have this problem. No need to replace the plug if its JB'd unless there is a big gap. I'm sure he knows he can replace the plug but he doesn't want to have to do that, hence the post...

To OP: Theres no real way for you to fix it without removing the tranny. Just take a few hours on the weekend and do it. It's better than having the clutch soaked in coolant.

dont want to do it. but i do want to do it . i just got every thing put back in but dont want to do it till it is a little warmer.

Haha. I completely understand. Just bite the bullet and do it. You'll be happy once its done. Get a friend to help, good music and some beers, that always makes it a little more bearable.

want to do it when i know everything runs right and has no other leaks is a fresh rebuild has taken me 7 months with all work done by my self .

i think i got the plug to stop leaking. used the cheap radiator stop leak.
