I already read this.

I did the basic, no logging, with WB gauge install. (I used pin 4, NB sim via LC-1 controller)

I just put in DSMlink, and got it running... I want to add lc-1 to it, but the link above suggests using pin 15.

Can I still use pin 4 as long as I switch lc-1 to wideband signal, then switch dsmlink to do NB simulation? or does it simply not work that way?

thanks

Did NB sim work with the LC-1?

Can I still use pin 4 as long as I switch lc-1 to wideband signal, then switch dsmlink to do NB simulation?

I will be trying the same soon and from what I've read it should work fine that way. Worst case is you may need a buffer wire for that input. If so you can still resort to pin 15.
I'll be running one signal wire to the Gauge and ECU (pin 4). Just make sure the LC-1 is set for WB and ecmlink is properly configured.

I did NB Simulation by using the stock O2 wire on the Ecu. I then put into Ecmlink where to find the sensor and what the sensor is and switched the NB Simulation on. I think with you placing the Wideband in a different pin, as long as you activate it through ecmlink and tell the ecu where to find it, It should work.

Correct, if the input is available to be used to datalog then it will work. Keep in mind the few pins that have restrictions on them and if you are going to use NBS, be simple and just wire it into the front O2 wire pin.

ok so tell the link to look for wb at pin 4 and then sim nb? I hace my wb in the factory location. I owuld rewire, but i would prefer to tap as little as possible.

I was just thinking that the ecu wouldnt be able to recieve wb and send nb at the same time i guess the pathway is sensor->ecu->link->ecu so thats why it could work. didnt think it would work that way.

I just played around with link for like 20 minutes. It seems like it would be possible. now I have to get a db9 to usb adapter to set up the lc-1...

So I waited for the keyspen tripplite "usa-19hs" (or usa-19h, same thing) courtesy of newegg.

It came in and i was like "great I can finally reprogram my lc1."
NOT.
I hooked up to asus eee netbook. running windows xp 3rd service pack.
I plugged in the terminator plug to out, the seriel cable to in. pluged in keyspan, pluged into netbook. turn car on (running and not running tried both ways), waited for WB to settle (start reading).
I would get 1 of 2 error messages. "no serial found" or "searching for device (something like that)"
So Im stuck now. I even downloaded the latest driver for the keyspan adapter. I have an old serial port laptop, idk if it will run logworks.

Ill post another update in a bit.

UPDATE: After calling tech support...
I was successful with:
oldschool laptop windows 98 second edition
All factory LC1 wires/connectors.
Tech walked me through what i been doing to setup, except he had me twist the connectors LOL (plug in and twist)
I guess my connections were sketch worked flawlessly. now on to the next as the orginal post states...

SO I got it all setup. Wiring is "normal" except I have both (now both outputs programed to Wideband) one going to WB guage, and one going to ecu pin 4.

Now my problem, which i sort of anticipated, I just want confirmation...

I took a log, I went into ecm setup and my o2 logs look weird. they oscilate between .2 and .8 volts. I set up NB sim, my wideband guage reads fine as normal.

Before i did NB sim, it was LC1 outputting ND signal and it had a lot more variance and definition then just oscilations between 2 exact voltages.

Im I stuch tapping into pin 15 like the original link in post 1 states to do for my setup?

thanks

Ok. So I have to use pin15 to log wide band? what about the narrow band signal? The WB o2 is in the font factory location.

I really dont want to bung my dp, at least until I put a cutout on it or know where im putting it.

I guess I have to reset the LC1 to do both wideband and narrow band.
Split the WB signal to my guage and the pin 15 on ecu.
Send the NB signal to the ecu on pin 4.

^this correct?

If you're currently using v3 to simulate the narrowband, you already have the wideband signal input. You just need to add the wideband to the captured/displayed values screens to see the value (as it should already be entered in the ECU Inputs tab for the narrowband sim to work properly).

The only reason you would need to do anything with the LC-1 is if you didn't like how the v3 narrowband sim worked (for some odd reason).

ok so i dont have to rewire anything? Which tab is this on? Add sensor? I followed ecm wiki and the results I got were the oscilating .2 and .8 volts. I guess ill play around with it. Im still only a few days into dsmlink.

1. I already mentioned that using narrowband sim through v3 will only display .2v and .8v for the narrowband signal - that's normal.

2. This screen below should already have your wideband input in the table at the top, as well as the input pin selection populated in the drop down next to "Wideband:" for narrowband sim.

You must be logged in to view this image or video.

Go into your captured values (Edit > Captured Values) and make sure whatever you named your wideband in the table is in the captured values list. Then go into your displayed values (Edit > Displayed Values) and make sure that same item is in the displayed values list. Then you should see it appear in the grid below the graph when streaming/logging and displaying your actual AFR.

If this still doesn't make sense, send me a PM and I'll see if remoting into your computer is an option to help out.

ok now i got it. 100% thank you very much for being fast and patient. I am logging both NB and WB right now (ill adjust that later, dont want to log too many things). It works just fine on pin 4 only.
