Well, this was the last auto event of the year with the talon. "Dizmm" as I call her, performed REALLY well for me. The night before the event, I found a fairly large crack on one of the end tanks of my I/C. Took it to a friend that happens to be an expert aluminum welder and had him fix the problem. I also picked up some race gas, did some tuning, through on my RA1's, changed the oil, and she was ready to rock!.

I helped put on the event so I had to get there early to help setup. It was a cool morning, temps in the low to mid 30's and reached the low 50's later in the day. I was worried about my tires not warming up enough to stick but they ended up doing just fine. The course was a very fun course with some high-banked turns that you could take at nearly full throttle. The turnout was great under the conditions of it being cold and near the end of the season. Had 60+ cars compete, and nearly half was all placed in my class, Street Mod (SM).

I will post the full results when they are posted up by the club. Off the top of my head the FTD for the day session was a 35.6 seconds by the Club president with his EVO. I believe he was in STU class but I can't remember. I took 2nd place Overall, and 1st in SM with a 36.01.

We also at a "night" auto-x where all you have for lighting is your own headlights. This seemed more challenging but somehow I beat my daytime record and ran a 35.86. I took FTD for the night session.

Overall it was an awesome day, there were 7 or so DSM's there. I have a short video clip of one of my runs in which I ran a 36.1. Also have a few pics that a friend took. More pics/vids will be coming soon as well as the full results.

That looks like a fun, fast course. Where was it?

Course was TONS of fun. This took place at Goldan Sands Speedway which is about 10 minutes from Stevens Point WI.

Ahh i am jealous !

BTW nice cow bells, sounded like an Olympic down-hill event. haha

"Gotta have more cow bell"

Looks like fun. I'm glad all the WRC fans came out to support you. LOL

I can't believe all these awesome courses I see other regions running. I'm mad jealous.

Damn nice, you guys run REALLY high-speed courses out there. Thats where the dsm shines, we got reallly tight courses around here, I second mavisky, im jealous.

Thanks for posting this andy, the event was ALOT of fun. Going to be nice next year doing it full-time(full season). The course was very very fast, and you might want to add that overall, the top 6 out of 8 were Mitsubishi's I believe.

Also, the rally crowd came with air horn, COW BELL, a Mitsubishi banner as well as American flag. It made the entire atmosphere alot of fun.

Also, will you be keeping those RA1's and wheels?

Get a white EVO, look better than any silver one i have ever seen!

What do you mean you can't see shit? That is what we saw from our drivers seat, not as easy as you think! Surprising that DIZMM beat his day time, and I came within a second of my day time(i believe). That video was in a SRT-4 also.

Would have been nice if either Andy took the video during his day runs or if the track was lit better.

We will have day videos, give it time. Also, the track could have been lighted, that wasnt the purpose! Using the track lights, it would have been the same as day time with cooler pavement. Using our own headlights gave it the difficulty and realism that we wanted, plus its just cool as hell:thumb:

I can't wait for next years season already, I finally got my 92awd going this week and I've never auto-x an awd. That track looked really sweet. I wish we had something like that here, Mavisky I think you need to talk to some local tracks.

What you need to do is get to the auto-X super early. Most clubs setup the course very early in the morning and if you get there when they are setting it up, you can give them a hand and give your input on how the course should be setup. OR, come to our next year's GSS Auto-X!!!

Here is an in-car video during the day. This is in the SRT-4.

This is my dodge shadow i picked up for about $100 to use as a Powder Puff (PP) car. We let all the guy's girlfriends/wives drive this car and compete in the PP (powder puff) class. The shadow may look slow, but it is equipped with a set of kuhmo victor racers. :sneaky:
