Well, this was the last auto event of the year with the talon. "Dizmm" as I call her, performed REALLY well for me. The night before the event, I found a fairly large crack on one of the end tanks of my I/C. Took it to a friend that happens to be an expert aluminum welder and had him fix the problem. I also picked up some race gas, did some tuning, through on my RA1's, changed the oil, and she was ready to rock!.
I helped put on the event so I had to get there early to help setup. It was a cool morning, temps in the low to mid 30's and reached the low 50's later in the day. I was worried about my tires not warming up enough to stick but they ended up doing just fine. The course was a very fun course with some high-banked turns that you could take at nearly full throttle. The turnout was great under the conditions of it being cold and near the end of the season. Had 60+ cars compete, and nearly half was all placed in my class, Street Mod (SM).
I will post the full results when they are posted up by the club. Off the top of my head the FTD for the day session was a 35.6 seconds by the Club president with his EVO. I believe he was in STU class but I can't remember. I took 2nd place Overall, and 1st in SM with a 36.01.
We also at a "night" auto-x where all you have for lighting is your own headlights. This seemed more challenging but somehow I beat my daytime record and ran a 35.86. I took FTD for the night session.
Overall it was an awesome day, there were 7 or so DSM's there. I have a short video clip of one of my runs in which I ran a 36.1. Also have a few pics that a friend took. More pics/vids will be coming soon as well as the full results.
