I have a 1998 GST 4g63 7 bolt motor. On Sunday there was a clicking noise on the interstate minutes later my turbo blew, as in the bearings went out in it.

I put a brand new turbo on it yesterday and went for a drive today. The knocking noise was still there and was a little but louder. After about 5 minutes of driving the car over heated and didn't want to stay running, and it was hard to get it started. I pulled it into the gas station and popped the hood. I could grab the lower radiator hose but the upper was extremely hot and the top of the radiator was cold. I let it cool down and tried to start it again and the car would start for 10 seconds until it started knocking again and shut itself off.

I got it home and pulled the valve cover and oil pan off and can't find anything lose, broken or cracked. I pulled the plugs and they look good. With the plugs pulled I tried spinning the motor and there was no knocking noise. The wear on the cams are good and the lifters and springs are all tight. I need some help!!

Start with an oil pressure test? I didn't see any info in profile so I'm assuming you don't have an aftermarket. I would start there seeing as the turbo blew that's a possible oiling issue, Alex

Any smoke? have you checked the oil since? It sounds like fried rings to me, you said the knocking started before the turbo blew, so my assumption is if rings did go that would rob a good amount of oil from the turbo causing it to fail. And you wont necessarily hear piston slap when cranking by hand. Nor would you physically see they are bad unless you had the head off. Definitely make sure everything looks normal before assuming though. Im being hypothetical.
