Is there a way to wire the knock sensor directly to the ecu using new wires so I don't have to rely on the 20 year old stock wires?

It's shielded wire. Why do you want new wire? What's wrong with it?

The knock sensor connector was all hacked up from previous owner. I tried repairing it but I get knock sensor malfunction on start up then goes away after 10 min of driving. Instead of hunting down a wiring issue I would rather just use new wires.
