I pulled the engine out of my car because the piston rings were fried and when I got the motor out, the knock sensor was not even hooked up. There is a wire coming from the sensor that broke off from the harness. I cannot figure out where it came from on the harness so that I can solder it back together or replace the whole sensor with wire. Can anybody help me know where to hook it back up to? Should I just replace the sensor, wire and all? Please help as my new engine is going back in tonight or tomorrow.

If you're pulling the motor for rebuild, it's a good idea to simply replace the sensor assembly and have peace of mind. Consider it safe insurance.

Besides, they're not all that expensive.

I don't even see in the harness where it plugs up. Can somebody help with that? Where can I get the sensor?

You can order the sensor from the dealer. As far as the harness, I don't have an NT so I can't advise you there. If you don't already have a Chilton's or Haynes manual, pick one up and this will point you in the right direction.

I'm sorry I didn't specify. This is for the a 90 Eclipse GST. The harness wire going to the knock sensor is broken off and I do not see where in the main harness it is supposed to hook to. I should have specified..any other help now will help. I am going to order a new knock sensor but I still need to know where it hooks to in the main engine harness.

i woul say invest in a service manual, so anytime time you have a question of what something looks like or where its at, you can look there. But it should be located on the bracket fot the intake manifold. there should be 2 harnesses there, one for the Knock sensor and one for something else
