knock sensor problem?

I recently installed a stage 3 chip from dsmchips.com and ordered it for the boost guage to knock sum guage conversion. also the chip has the phantom knock removal programmed into it. well after about a week, i got a cel light and the logger read p0325 "knock sensor 1 circuit malfunction." am i getting this code because the sensor needs to be replaced or could the chip set this off? I reset the ecu about 2 weeks ago and havent gotten the code again. I read somewhere that you get that code for phantom knock or simply the sensor is destroyed. This is all confusing me because the chip is supposed to get rid of the phantom knock by ignoring it when not under load and the CEL hasnt come back after resetting the ecu. someone please explain this to me. also i went to the track a couple weeks ago and ran 20 psi on absolutely no tune and didnt see any knock at all. Something has to be wrong here.

chances are that your knock sensor is bad...malfunctioning knock sensors will give phantom knock and a CEL...Even though you have the chip, that doesn't fix a bad knock sensor. I would suggest you get yourself another sensor somewhere either used or new just to be on the safe side.
