Knock Sensor Distance

Is it a big deal if my knock sensor doesn't screw in completely flush with the block? There's maybe about a thread and a half that I can see looking from under. Is a centimeter really going to throw things off? The hole was rusted when I screwed it in and it was a pain in the ass just to get it where it is now.

So long as it's good and snug, it should work fine. If it rattles at all, your ECU will go nuts.
