Last night my car was making a very mellow knocking sound when I would give it some gas. I popped the hood and listened. It was coming from the head. My cars a 95 TSI AWD. Anyone know what might be causing something like that?

It could be many things...

A rod, valve(s), bad bearing..

Does the noise get louder and fatser when you rev the engine?

Was it a knock, or a tick?

Just sounds like lifter tick to me.

Yes it does get louder when you rev. the engine. But tonight it really wasnt making the noice again....

I would just say lifter tick, my engine is loud sometimes and other times it's quiet like a brand new motor..
