Can I add the keyless entry option by simply adding the factory keyless entry module to the factory wiring connectors in the drivers rear module location along with programming a factory remote? The car has factory electric door locks.

thanks

Denny

I think I understand your question,

If your car is missing the keyless module that is typically in the drivers rear quarter panel behind the door seat belt retractor, you can add another factory one and buy a factory remote and reprogram the remote to work. I do not know the procedure for programming a remote

The better option is to install an aftermarket keyless entry system. Usually they can be found for $50 or so and install under the dash

Original key fob replacements are very costly, usually $50 to $100 and have terrible reception range and the buttons are extremely flimsy and prone to fail.

So yes you could, but the factory key fob was terrible range even when it was new

Thank you Chrysler Kid for your reply. I was hoping it would be just a simple plug in of the module in that location. I already have a donated factory key fob and have located the module at a reasonable price.

My GSX is 100% stock with only 5k miles and I’m trying to keep it that way. Your reply is greatly appreciated.

No problem.

The keyless module is merely a radio frequency receptor, and is not key specifically to one vehicle or one remote.

So a new module in a car equipped with power locks will function like the original, just requires programming to recognize the new remote
