Question

Right now I am running fp2 cams with my big 16g making right around 450 HP question is I bought some kelford 272/272 for this Precision 6062 I was thinking about putting on do you think I can make even more power swaping the fp2 ces for the kelford or you think i taped out on the HP with the 16g. My best run is 10.8 on slicks I would like to go as fast as possible on the 16 g

So if tens have been ran on 14b turbos I probully have some left in this 16g then

Maybe a little yea the 14b cars hes talking about are straight up striped out drag cars, with every other possible mod that has ever been created on them.

Oh as far as HP goes 450 seems pretty well maxed on the 16g I doubt you will reduce your times by getting more power. It comes down to suspension, transmission, and how good your launches/60 times are.

Yea Joe Bucci's car was by no means a street car. But impressive non the less

10.8's on 16g is really very good in a street car, no matter what cams your using. Changing will really just up your power band , my opinon would be to keep your turbo and swap cams and give a little comparison write up here, would be nice to see what net gains or losses you experience since you have a pretty good baseline to start from. You could also do a comparison with your other turbo also ..... I would do cams, as that is an often asked question about what cams to go with.

Would love to see a dyno sheet of a 38 lb/min turbo making 450whp. Not saying it's impossible, but the rest of your build has to be spot-on for sure.

Your goal is 10.33 and 134mph...this car was driven to the track, I was there that night.

The magic in going fast with a 16G isn't the turbo, it's the rest of the build...and the driver. If you've gone 10.8 already, you're doing pretty damn good. :D

The only way to get more power out of your 16g would to probably clip the turbine to make the powerband a little more usable with the kelford 272s but anything's possible!
Clipping wouldn't do anything but add lag when the compressor isn't potent enough to require additional turbine flow. Any of the exhaust energy that isn't needed is being wastegated anyway.

A more-aggressive cam with a 16G may make power that's too far outside of the usable airflow range of the 16G....in other words, the engine may suddenly gobble up too much compressor flow in the upper RPM range, and your boost level will tank. If you notice, the 10.33 in the link I posted above was done with HKS 264's....a set of 280's would've likely made the car slower by upsetting the airflow balance and ruining the torque curve.

Good point JusMX141, being that the cams are outside the power range it most likely will hurt the time slip, although I wonder where is the ceiling for cam profile and turbo ( in this case a 16g ) and if that corelation would ring true as the turbo increases in size so does the cam profile .....

As JusMX141 mentioned, the 272 kelfords moved the powerband higher in the rpm range which the 16g would not cooperate with. The way I look at it is, pick a cam based on where your other supporting mods benefit in powerband(RPM Range). Picking a cam can be a tricky task that has more to it than "The bigger the better". I run Kelford 264's with a FP DSM HTA76. I chose those cams not based directly on the turbo I have as it would love the higher RPM of the 272's but rather based on I drive an auto. The 264's will help with brake boosting and spool. I would stick with the fp2's personally. I made 580 awhp on fp2 using a Borg s259ett. They are great cams and I even revved to 9.5k with great flow at redline.
