So my GF's aunt gave me 10$ on her debit card, she pumped it i stood there and watched her do it and didnt realize till my girl asked after "your car cant take 87 right?!?!?!"

So i was freaking out and was driving easy had to boost once or twice and didnt notice any issues?

Could the 1/16 of my tank of 91 still be getting used cause i still have the majority of the 87 in my car?

I have my boost gauge hooked up to read the knock sensor and didnt get any knock, im also only running 10psi and have 1000cc injectors so could my tune just be so conservative it just works??

You dont think il make a big tank of 90 octane
but besides that i dont have $ to do that with but if i do see any problems i will fill the gas tank asap

Just stay out of the boost and it'll be fine. If you don't have the money to fill it up with 91 you probably shouldn't be racing around. But California gas anyways......nevermind

If you can't afford a tank of gas, you should probably park your car. If something would break, you'd be stranded with no way to pay to get it towed or to fix it. Besides, $10 worth of gas isn't going to get you far.

California isnt good with anything above 91 unless your pumping E-85 which I would say put a few more gallons of 91 and then a gallon of E-85.... Honestly thats what i would do.

WTF is up with all the negativity?!?! Y'all act like he's a homeless guy driving a civic!

Just like everyone else said...put in some higher octane and wait for the next fill up!

OMG!!!ONE!!!111!!ONE

seriously, calm down. As mentioned stay out of the high ignition advance part of the map. Take some extra cigarette or booze money (or whatever vice you have) and use it for some premium.

What the hell do I own a civic ?? am I homeless I agree with that guy :......why all the negativity and I dont have any cash because I'm saving for my engine At the machine shop
...I mean I HAVE cash but don't wanna make a fat tank of 90 gas...but if u guys says It cool I'm not worried and I'm almost threw the tank and stil have gotten no knock .....I run 13* of timing at redline so low ignition map...like a asked before could my tune be so conservative the 87 octane works(NOT SAYING I WILL PUT MORE 87 IN)
Oh and if you arnt down to speak to me In this manner to my face please dont be this way over the computer...thanks...but thanks everyone more for great advice

Youll be fine, I wouldnt worry about it.

Worried? Keep a logger running and watch knock, or if you have Link; Knock CEL.

If I was running 10psi, I'd run nothing but 87.

Ok first off rambo, dont sit there and think any one would hesitate to say any of that to your face. Next, its 87 octane on 10psi with a 1000cc injector. You are getting plenty of fuel in there. Unless your at 20psi or running high compression you really dont need premium. Your talking about all this crap you have done to this car as if it at all would impress anyone, and all things considered, if you knew anything about cars and how an engine works and the finer points of octane and why to run what fuels you would not have to ask such questions. Your in cali, 10 bux is like what 2 maybe 3 gallons? I would burn thru that on a stock setup by the end of the day, let alone any kind of tuned setup where I would actually utilize something like a 1000cc injector set. Your panic'd over nothing. The guy I bought my 91 tsi from ran low grade fuel at best and was boosting nearly 20psi. Not good, and likely knocked more than once, but the car ran as long as you didnt drive it like a D bag. Do some research as to why you need to run what fuel and the reasons why before you panic again. Google is a powerful tool, so use it.

Id bet atleast half of the people would not say anything if they werent behind a computer.

My '99 RS takes 87 octane. We have 93 and higher octane available here in RI, so my '99 GSX gets spoiled with 93. We even have 101 in a few locations but it's very high ($7-10/gallon) Expensive, but if you can afford to buy a GSX, you obviously can afford to own it! Plus I use boost often to swerve out of the way of slow traffic or crappy drivers. So it's worth it to me because I use it all the time.

Invest in a boost controller and set it to a very low boost setting or just turn it off. Buy a 2nd car that is gas friendly and a standard transmission. BTW, NEVER let a girl do anything to/with your car! :nono: It will bite you in the ass everytime...

If you are worried about gas and your driving a turbo car of any kind, or even a higher performance vehicle, you are wasting a shitload of money! :ohdamn:

Just don't floor it till you put some higher octane in.

Your turbo car really isn't affected by octane grade until it actually boosts pretty much.
