this is my first time posting a thread so i will start it off with a really stupid question. at top speed just how fast will my gst spyder go? it is really important that i know. if you know... tell me.

So it's rev limited....how fast would one be going in an awd 2g at 7000rpm, 5th gear?
No, there's a rev limiter and a speed limiter.

If you're asking questions like this, it can go fast enough to kill you.

thanks heart turbo. thats a really good tlink. do you think it will still pass emissions after doing this mod?

Well i cut the resistor in the ECU left it there just cut it in half. before i would hit about 130 and stop. fastest i went in my spyder was 152-156mph and that was on a very open freeway noone around. i did not keep going at these speeds i decided to let off everything was just to fast am sure 160 is a arms reach away but not recommended. This was achieved on a Evo3 Big 16g hence the time the get to the 150s with the t25 am not really sure about it, might take a while IMO. i rarely go above 130. I did that 150+ run after i did the ECU mod. Works well.

damn man that bad ass. im not that dumb as to blow my engine but its cool to talk to a spyder gst owner. thanks for writing.

yup 2g GST limiter is between 130-135.... I can get mine to 135 with ease and it quits.. no need to go that fast anyways.

I have seen a video of a Heavily modded GSX hit 170 decently fast and it was above stock redline at that speed

I'm not too sure. One of my Mechanical Engineering friends calculated the max speed at stock redline and it came out to be 155mph.

highest ive ever gone is 135 while racing a vette on the highway.

ive seen a video of a gsx in the area pass a spirit that had the speedo pegged at 150... like it was standing still...

fastest in my car was the tire rating H,i didnt want to go faster. but i got my 92 dodge caravan goin 200 km/h thats like 124 miles an hour, with out even H rated im sure :shhh: . that was insane because i had hit curb doin donut so one of my rims was bent and it was shaking like a mother! that caravan is amazing! its a cargo van totally stripped with the 3.3 v6 weighs like 2800 lbs with me in! god i love that van....but ya

the 140 gods are fickle bastards...speed is a strange thing, for me 120 is a walk in the park...135 is getting a bit wild...at 140 you reach a strange paradox its like every five miles above 140 feels like your going twice as fast as you were originally going..the fastest i have ever gone was 158 in an 03 z06 6 speed..and its a place i dont ever care to go again...the doted lines on the highway become a continuous blur...scenery becomes a weird swirl of constant merging colors and little things start to nag on your mind.....like what happens if i hit a rock...i dont know, something about going faster then take off speed of an f-16 bothers me a little..but its something everyone should experience if they have a vehicle capable of doign it

but its something everyone should experience if they have a vehicle capable of doign it

no they shouldnt. thats how stupid kids with rich parents die, cause mommy and daddy buys them a mach1 or a SS and they do just what you mentioned. then when they go, they ruin it for the rest of us cause it makes all of us more responsible people look bad.

i know the freeway where sinister tried his top end run, its straight for a very long time and late at night you ARE the only one on that certain strip.

a T25 would take a LOOOOOOONG time to reach 140, that other guy i know(paul) with his T25 said he got to 125 quick, but after that he said it felt like he was hitting a wall, there was no pull whatsoever. however being in sinisters car i can vouch for its supreme quickness in the top end.

top speed is a weird thing. alot of variables come into play in calculating speeds of over 120mph. you got wind speed and direction, drag, friction from tires rotating thousands times per second, engine speed, hp and torque, surface variables(freeway, tarmac, smooth), gear ratio, tire diameter. all these things come into account. you cant say that no matter what the top speed of a GST at 7k is 155. bigger diameter tires will help get a higher top speed, its the same as adding a taller final gear ratio.

ill put it to you this way, ive had my car for a year, its seen triple digits maybe 3 times. 2 was a highway race and the other was a hit 120 test which i hit and backed down real quick cause it scared the shat out of me. im not really into supreme speed, im more into throw you back in your seat acceleration.

go on the highway at night and go WOT, nothin like a first hand experience

When is triple digits even more fun?

When there's an evo in front of you, and a 1g behind you :>

Thats the best way ive seen it put. i can hit 120 passing 2 cars and it doesnt feel like anything. i hit 125 and you can fell your grip with the road leaving you wether it is or not doesnt matter. hit 140+ once and youve done it and really wont have any desire to do it again. I hit 120 often enough, but if i start going over it the foot comes off the gas, you know your toying with things beyond your power at that point.

ok, let me reword my last sentence....anyone with a vehicle capable and the driving skill/nerve to attempt entering the temple of the 150+ gods should attempt it...i dont recommend doing it on an everyday basis, because the odds will get you eventually...on a long enough time line everyones survival rate becomes 0%,just remember when you break the threshold of 135 you are flirting with the undertaker and if a bird farts close enough to your car at high speed your going to enjoy a very brief and wild ride on your way to a gruesome death
