just changed waterpump/timing belt.. problems

That sounds like the same exact problem im having RIGHT NOW. I was told it was the Crank Shaft Pulley. My Belt was trying to leap the crank... and it sounds just like that to. I would say just replace the Crank Pulley. Might be cracked or something. & you wont know untill you actually take it off and take a look. So do ME a favor.... and do that and let me know what happens.
 
I replaced the Crank pulley with an OEM one this past friday....

cost be like 80 bux to replace, so i would suggest EVERYONE do it now. You know... before your car is on the curb like mine was :thumb:
 
I can't hear anything over your exhaust leak, fix that first. I thought I might hear a faint rubbing sound of the timing belt on the timing cover which isn't rare since those things get so warped over time. Only other thing is the crank pulley itself ican become seperated and is slipping, common problem new pulley will fix it. If it is is the pulley slipping trying to set base timming is impossible. Just my 2 cents.
