just bought my first 93 talon tsi

I just purchased a 93 talon tsi fwd and im having some issues im unfamilar with such.as
my idle it.idles at 2000 rpm not sure if thats correct or not seems kinda high and every once in awhile it will just suddenly drop to about 500 and my check engine light will come
on then i rev it up and it goes away. Plus anybody that lives in phoenix or mesa that would love to share their knowledge on these cars would be awsome eager to learn and i

Do all mechsnical stuff tune up and do boost leak test. Theres tons write up and videos look around.

Start with a boost/vacuum leak test then go from there

Just for good measure I would do a compression test on the car too. Its always nice to know what the engine is like. After you do the boost leak test I would consider changing all the small parts on the engine IE spark plugs, oil, filter, and based on appearance the spark plug wires
