I just bought the Aluminum Driveshaft from the Driveshaft shop along with the axles for the front and rear. I already have the 4 bolt obviously and am ready to start tearing out the 3 bolt. My questions are about what I should do while I have the 3 bolt out. Anything I should do while I'm putting the new items in? My thoughts were the Shearer Fab Alum rear diff forward bushings. Any thoughts or suggestions? This is strictly a drag racing vehicle never to see the road, and just so you dont have to look... I have a 1990 Talon TSI AWD.

Here is the link to what I'm talking about:
::ShearerFabrications.com - Products::.

Are these the same things as whats being talked about in this thread here, or are they two completely different items?

What about the carrier bearings for the driveshaft. Should I just go ahead and replace them now since I got the money and the shaft is already out? I assume I still need them but I honestly dont know. Will the new 3.5" shaft fit the carrier bearings? While I got it apart and im in there is there anything else that I should do while I'm in there? Please any and all suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! :talon:

Is it a 2 piece driveshaft? If its a 1 piece i would assume that you arnt going to be using the carrier bearings anymore. I'd say your best bet would be to call the shop who made the driveshaft and ask them. If it uses them then i would see what kind of shape the bearings are in and replace them as needed, no point in having to take the driveshaft out later because of vibrations that would just be an unneeded p.i.t.a. As for the rear bushings, i'd say go for it. if it's good enough for john shepherd, i'm sure it will benefit you too! pricey though.
