So went to track this weekend and ran my new hoosier slicks for the first time. The car ran amazing and I got my best et ever so far of 13.15@109. The problem is I broke 2 axles and both on the pass side.:banghead:  I do preload and slip clutch every race. I was running 12psi in pass side tire and about 10 on drivers, after first one snapped hoping it would help. Anyway not sure what to do at this point, I do have one more spare axle but really don't wanna break it. Has anyone had this many snap in a 3 day period. What would you guys recommend for a good replacement for both side axles that won't kill my pocket. Or anything I could change to help not break them. It seems like they both broke when I really got the tires heated up. Thanks for any help guys, I really need to figure this out before next months races. For one I wanna race and two my parents will be in town to watch me race for the first time.

Address your motor mounts, suspension and bushings, and keep even tire pressures. Contact Marty at Raxles for better axles at a great price with a killer warranty. www.Raxles.com, call him to discuss axle options. Wheel hop will destroy them all day long. What kind of front diff are you running? What kind of replacement axles are you running?

Well if you look at my profile you would see what I have done to my setup. Motor mounts are all new with full energy suspension inside, all my bushings are energy suspension. I am runing yonaka coilovers and are new and such an awsome setup. I have absolutely no wheel hop at all, and why would I not run slicks. My best on street tires was a 14.30 and on slicks so far 13.15 and I believe that will be a mid 12 once I get the axles figured out. For front diff I have a Quaife lsd, and am using stock oem axles. Ya I was checking out raxles and will probably get something from them. I even tried raising the tire pressure by 2 psi in the passanger side hoping it would help. Any way thanks for the help so far, I'm deffinetly not a newbie to dsm's and check out my profile if you wanna see my setup. God bless

Sorry, I couldn't see your profile information on my phone. Run even tire pressures. What do you have for front and rear spring rates on those coilovers? Are they preloaded? If so, what is the preloaded spring length? Did you measure static spring length before installation? Have you checked the current spring length to confirm a sagging spring issue or difference in spring rate from different spring preloads? Just because you have coilovers doesn't mean that they cannot be set up improperly. Ride height at all 4 corners? Valving adjustment at all 4 corners?

Yummy! Axles for breakfast!

Take the time to learn how to properly optimize your coilovers for your application.

Things to consider and things to know:

*Actual vehicle weight.
*Corner weight and cross weight.
*Learning how to preload a coil spring to increase its effective spring rate.
*Learning how to do this in conjunction with ride height adjustment.
*Learning how to adjust your damper's valving per corner to optimize traction and reaction under load and weight transfer.
*Overall suspension dynamics.
*Balanced wheel/tire package.
*Vehicle 4-wheel alignment or a loaded vehicle alignment (loading the rear of the car for the amount of spring travel you have on the launch, then doing a 4-wheel alignment to optimize traction under load).

If you want more help and information with coilovers, alignment and corner weighting stuff, check out the Autocross forums out there for alot of info!

Thanks for the advice bro. I will post back with more info when I get more time to. I do have the info somewhere LOL, I did measure and check most of the things you suggested. I definetly take my time on things and make sure the setup works. I do have preload on the springs off hand can't remember the exact measurments from before preload and after. My ride hieght is I believe 26 1/4" up front and 26 3/4" in the rear and I gave more preload in the rear. The car doesn't squat at all on launch or shifts. Im trying to load my runs on site but files are to big, just need to load to utube then post link. I think I found the axles I'm going with thanks to dsmusmc. I spoke to marty at raxles but he has none at the moment.

Well found a affordable solution to my problem. Brian from Terhuneraceworks.com is making me a set of race axles for a great deal. Will have them ready in about 2 weeks hopfully before the aug 6 races. He also said lifetime warranty which is the best part, so can't wait to get them. I'll post some pics when they get here.

Almost a year old. Are you still breaking axles or did you fix the problem?:hmm:

If he is, I'd think about this:

For front diff I have a Quaife lsd...

Helicals react. They lock when the amounts of torque being used (or "reflected") by the two outputs are different. I would suggest a pro-active diff, instead, such as a 1- or 1.5-way in the front. Have it lock before the problems begin.

Yes problem solved with Brian's axles which were also cryo treated for that extra umph LOL. Ran my fastest so far tonight 12.89@110, car is really pulling hard. But my main problem now is the hrc16g just can't handle it anymore. So my mhi 20g and a steel thrust plate thanks to Justin are going in for next months races. Then id love to get a hx35 w/ bep housing in there along with a meth kit for future fun and needs. Im sick of paying $11.50 for 110 race gas it just plain sux.

11.50 for 110, ouch. It is about 6 bucks a gallon here. I usually mix about 3 gallons with 5 gallons of 93. It gives you good octane for a cheaper price.

Ya bro I would mix but we only have really crappy 92 here. That's another reason why I want a meth kit ASAP. Gas right now for 92 is $5 a gallon sux. At least I won 2nd place tonight for the bracket races so I just about won back all the money I spent this weekend to race. Plus I got a nice trophy to go home with :)

I gotta say, nice MPH's on those runs! Car is definatly pulling hard for you! :)

FWD and axels have always been an issue. I know quite a few FWD turbo mopar people that usually bring a spare axle or two. LOL! Typically they do have better luck when upgrading to a race type axle, as you found out.

Anyways, nice car!

+1 on Brian and his axles. He's a good guy and stands behind his work. Iv been friends with him for a little while and try to do most of my business with him.
