just bought 1g fwd turbo

I just purchased a turbo fwd. I checked the computer for codes and its giving me a code 31. I know it means knock sensor but I would like to know where to go from here to fix the car? In the meantime I will try to get myself as much info from this site as I can. any help will be appreciated

the nock sensor is on the back side of your motor under the intake mani.it should be the only thing back there conected to a wire. Its not to bad to change.

If it's never been taken off there's an intake manifold bracket under there, and it IS a bi*** to change. Me and everyone I know just leaves that bracket off.

Just Incas check ## plugs to make sure they're not crossed my gf's Tsi threw a knock code when we bought it and turned out to be tht. But if not best bet would be lift the car and get it from there if ## like me and have small arms it'll okay to get to.

It's a gray connector. As stated above, if it is original, the connector itself should be attached to the manifold bracket.

Yah I was gunna say Imma have to go look, its been a while denver we changed it. Then someone answered. Hope that helps you get it fixed.an it took me an my brother about 2 hours to replace.I think the hardest part was getting the new one back on.
