Im so freaking excited. My car was fast before with a turbo housing that was cracked to hell an I didn't get all my boost. and so going from a broken stock turbo to an evo 3 im soooo excited. My question though is will me keeping the 1g header connect ok to the turbo? or do I need to get a different exhaust mani?

Its still in the mail so I haven't been able to look for myself if it connects that's why I ask.

Thanks everyone

It should fit up to the manifold. There maybe some other issues with the oil feedline, but im not sure. i would make sure you use rtv on the turbo to j pipe gasket. you dont want any boost leaks.

I vote to buy a different manifold.

The 1G manifold will crack to hell if it hasn't already. Pre-turbo boost leaks aren't great for turbine efficiency. The other issue is the collector of your 1G manifold will not be big enough to match the turbine housing of the 16G turbo. If you don't replace the manifold, your other option would be to port your exisiting manifold to match the turbo, but that would be a complete waste of time because 1G manifolds are so prone to cracking.

Evo III 16G Manifold

yeah unfortunately it has cracked a tiny bit. but im holding out on that as long as i can due to i just spent like 550+ for the turbo LOL. In the plans tho are equal length headers. My old mani wont hurt my turbo tho right?

Evo III 16G Manifold

I'm pretty sure its against the rules to sell your stuff in the classifieds even with just a link to it.

I would just get a 2g manifold. Far cheaper and just as good as the evo 3 mani with a little bit of porting. You can pick up a 2g mani for about $40 and be fine with that for quite a while.

I'm not sure what you're saying....the Classifieds is the place to list your items for sale.

It's not like I started a thread in the newbie section with a complete list of parts I'm selling, I was simply showing the O.P. the type of manifold he may need, and where to find one. I could link him to one on Slowboy's site or another vendor, and it would basically be the same thing.

You could probably find a 2g manifold really cheap, that would be an upgrade over the 1g.
As long as it's ported, yes.

The collector area of the 1G and 2G manifolds are both 6cm2, so they would both need to be ported to mate to the 16G's turbine housing inlet. The Evo III manifold is the only manifold that correctly matches the 7cm2 turbine housing of the 16G turbos right out of the box.

The classifieds is where you post it, yes. Quite obviously. But enhancing your views of your product for sale in the threads is probably against the rules. I'm not trying to start an argument over it but with how long you've been on here you should know its not allowed.

+1 to post #5.

Regarding your cracked 1G manifold - there's no telling when it will crack again (it's not a matter of "if"). Stop effing around and get a new Evo III mani. 1G manifolds are old and are very suseptable to cracking. Plus they have small runners. Or try and find a used Evo III or 2G manifold in the Classifieds section. I'm sure someone has an extra one they would be willing to sell you.

Here is a link if you wish to get a fancy new EM.
