Just bought 2g tsi fwd

Just bought it about a week ago. Running everything stock. Previous owner cut exhaust right were the downpipe connects to the exhaust so it's extremely loud. Was boosting around town today when all the sudden the car spudders and dies. Tried to start it back, then for a second and blew one white with blue tint smoke everywhere. Then died again. So I thought, maybe I coulda blown the little t25 but took the intake off and felt for compressor wheel play there's is none. Every time I crank the car it'll start an idle kind of weird, and start backfiring then ill apply some throttle an it acts like its running out of gas. Then all kinds of crap starts ticking in the dash. Previous owner also ripped the stereo out. Left all the wires bare an junk? Help please?!

That depends on your goals and how much you want to spend. Are you capable of doing the work yourself?
There are vendors thar can build you a nice long block. Or check classifieds.
How mich you looking to spend. Again depends on your goals.

Wow those readings suck check the forum i showed you. Guy selling complete block 100 dollars unsure of the condition but its definitely a start tell him smokestack referred you.

If money isn't an issue check this out Eclipse 4g63 longblock located in Gloucester va

if you have the ability to do the work your self i would go that route. if not, keep your eyes open. i see 4g63 long blocks on CL going from 450-650 depending on milage. good luck!

okay so done it a third time and heres the reading I got and I done it four times on each. starting from drivers side and going left to right. 135,160,155,145. now im thinking along ther lines of blown turbo because the turbo does have shaft play. im through tonight with her though gotta work in the morning let me know what youi guys think..

Looks a lot better but u should know 133 is the service limit (rebuild) try pouring a dab of oil into that cylinder and if see if the reading jumps if it does your rings are probably bad depends on you though. another thread to explain it better

I wld say blown head gasket if the oil has white in it, or mayb jumped time an cracked the head sumwhere

Also a blown head gasket or the head bin cracked it the rite place wld make u lose compression

I blew a headgasket and burning coolant. My oil and coolant never mixed.

Sounds like you have a blown headgasket. From the loud spool up and white smoke at a certain rpm, it seems that your turbo is blown too Also, having the electrical wires unplugged (like the ones to your CD deck) will contribute to low idle rpm.

I would just pull the motor and break it down and inspect it, Most likely the engine probably just needs freshened up and the turbo wouldn't cause it not to start tho.

yeah im just gonna pull the whole block. and set aside. i found a fresh rebuilt 7 bolt at a junkyard near where i live, its in a totalled 1g eclipse. the eclipse is a 5 speed so i was like all excited and stuff because he said that it had a freshly rebuilt 7 bolt with less than 1000 miles on the engine and turbo. then he said that it was totaled i was likeeee ####kkk . but he said he would sell me the whole motor, plus turbo, and full exhaust for 600. id say i can get it for 5 or 550. ill post a pic up here in a few of the engine. thanks for all your support guys through this very very depressing time . and the wires for the cd deck is so freaking frustrating because the kid i bought the car off of, just rip the whole cd player out and everything and just left all the bare wires. and ive been trying to figure everything out. but cant seem to find none of the right wires.

hey guys little bit of an update. I went and looked at the motor i was talking about. i posted it 5 or 6 photos of the engine. look at them and let me know. i was thinking it may be be a 6 bolt but im not for sure.

Hey guys little bit o an update block is fine. We was doing the compression test wrong . It was a cheapo. But got the block pulled and currently going under a transformation. dropping the fresh 7 bolt in for now. But my buddy Nathan has a 7 bolt if anybody is intrested for 400$ has 112xxx miles new timing belt. Everything's fine on it also. Let me know fellas.

whats up guys? small update finally got the engine set down in. also bought a gt35r knock off from ebay, i bought from this guy for 25 its got a blown oil seal. a guy flipped over a dump truck at work long story short i got the turbo off of it. its a cat huge ass ####ing thing. . anyway and also bought a big 16g evo3 turbo that ill be putting on when i get this motor in and straightened out. i need some help guys. i found a thread about the witing harness, but i need some help with all the vac lines, and fuel lines. thanks for the help guys.

I don't have the head off the new block, I'm gonna rebuild my old one whenever I get some spare money I just need my dd back. I have no way of transpiration and I'm having to rely on a buddy for work . But yeah I'm gonna either send me old block off to dsm graveyard and have it rebuilt or Jnztuning. One of the two, or hell maybe even buy a block from dsmgraveyard don't know yet.

Sorry to hear that man, most of us have been there!! Multiple times , u always have the option of trying to find a used running motor if money is tight aswell. Good luck whatever route you decide to take!

This Kay have been answered already but you prob blew an intercooler pipe off. When you give it gas it will run like it has launch controll and won't run over like 3k
