Looking into upgrading my shifter assembly due to my stock shifter assembly being sloppy. I purchased a used 3000gt stock shifter assembly and am debating on having JNZTuning mod it to shorten it and make it compatible with a 1g dsm. Has anyone else done this mod? if so was it purchased through JNZ or modded by JNZ? Whats your opinion on the shifting feel after its installed? Thanks for your feedback in advance.

Ive got one, just got it a few weeks ago after wanting one for years. If its for your DSM, not a GVR4, be sure to specify because the stalk will be a bit long if he makes a GVR4 style for your DSM. Also, ask for the solid stop mod. It replaces the stock rubber stop with a steel one and it makes the shifts feel very positive and solid. The shifter is great, far better and nicer than stock or the Fidanza I had that I had to add a stop to to prevent breaking my forks. JNZ is the best shifter you can get for the 1G DSM, there is no comparison.

Also, since you say your assembly is currently sloppy, sounds to me like you just need new bushings. The shifter will come with four of the six required. Get two more, these will go on the lever on the shifter base itself, the one that the cable that moves when you move the shifter side to side attaches to. There is also a bushing that goes on the end of the shifter itself, where it goes into that lever. Get one of these as well and you will have a solid setup, especially if youve already got sold shifter base bushings and solid bushings in the ends of the cables at the transmission.

Okay awesome thanks for the advise and review. I'm just waiting on the 3kgt shifter assembly to get here and it'll be getting shipped off to JNZ right away, i planned on replacing all the bushings in the shifter assembly when i get the shifter back, already have solid base bushings and bearings under the hood just need to get the rest of the stuff and replaced, also change the trans fluid with some MT90 instead of the RP junk i'm running now, hopefully it solves all my shifting issues.
