Hey everyone I am new to DSM's however I have done my research. I just bought a 90 eclipse GS-T with 177k miles on it. The plan is to drive it around stock while I'm rebuilding an engine and transmission to drop into it. I just bought the new engine to rebuild today 1/15/2011. The guy I bought it from said it was rebuild but I wont know until I get it torn apart and maybe I will get lucky and have good pistons, rods, crank, valves and all.
I am going to take rather extensive pictures during the rebuild and keep a running cost for reference.
90 eclipse GS-T: 1600$
90 eprom ecu: 160$
eculink v3 full with 91 eprom ecu: 160$
engine to rebuild with said good transmission: 700$
bad transmission, CV axles, and stater: 50$
Evo FMIC, walbro 255 LPM fuel pump, boost controller: 75$
Rims and new tires: 400$
Box of random DSM items including A/F gauge, Boost gauge, thermostat, new spark plug wires & steel braided fuel line: 60$
Pillar gauge cluster for 2 gauges 11.50$ after shipping
Grand total so far is 3216.50$
The pictures are of my car in stock form before adding the rims and of the engine I just picked up today.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
