Day 2 pt.1 .. Windshield Wipers/arms, windshield visor, Hood off, Battery off, Alternator and power stearing cable harness's off and some wires to the intake manifold are off.. Time to eat.. then getting ready to get most of the wiring done

uh i did a headgasket in under 4 hours, jack up the drivers side take the tire off, take the belts off first unplug the fuel injectors and all that crap and alll those wires just move to the passenger side. pull the whole head off with the intake on and just unscrew teh 4 bolts on the turbo manifold and leave the turbo where it is just dangling on the exhaust. of course the belts and the timing well good luck. theres some guides online but get zipties. as you can see this is prob hour number 2

also theres no need to get the hood off or wipers or battery, i though have a 1g intake so its a bit different but this is such an easy job except for the timing thats going to suck

ah well i dropped an engine too. take it out with the tranny, trust me. dont ask what happened to the tranny but this is my 1g 7bolt 7k rebuilt motor

look at how much oil just built up on the block...

just a stock rebuild.. Kit with Arp Head studs and cosmetic head gasket. Clean up the bay and repaint it. FMIC, Bigger injectors, Fuel Pump, Bigger turbo. nothing fancy dont got the money =)

I wouldnt go with cometic in my experience with them. I would go with a mitsubishi oem or metal.

Finally, got it on the jackstand yesterday. had to adjust the chains so it could be evenly moved onto the stand. Well took a day break from working on her. Today though me and a buddy got right back into it. We took off ALOT. Intake Manifold, Coolant Lines, Injectors, Timing Cover, Pulleys, And the Timing Belt. Valve Cover. Stopped at the Camshafts. Soaked them in oil and put the valve cover back on so i can resume taking them off tomorrow =)

Separated the Head from block. Turned the block over, and hit the pistons out.. CHARCOAL. they are disgusting.. Look how black they are. (180k miles might i remind you) Well .. we couldnt get the crank out. Took the Block down to nearby shop and had buddys of mine get her off.. Everything is off and ready to go to the machine shop =) should be taking her there tomorrow .. Whatcha guys think so far? Bought Wire brushes and Sand Paper, ready to go and get all the rust out of engine bay and get her ready for paint
