So I have the jays racing alternator relocation kit. Now that my car is running and I’m actually driving it, the damn power steering pump/ water pump belt keeps popping off, leaving me stranded.

So far I’ve tried the alt relocation bracket, and adjusting the power steering pump mounting bracket, the belt looked fine but I’m going to replace it right now.
Has anyone else had any problems with the belt popping off? What else can I do to try and get this resolved?

I had this issue many years ago with it tossing off after a high rpm pull. The pulley was a little tweaked so it would toss itself. Unfortunately I couldn't resolve it, so I went to an electric water pump setup with a Fluidampr crank pulley, and deleted my power steering, which resolved the issue. Sadly though, this won't be super useful for you.

Are you using a new belt? Have you measured it to see if you could fit a 0.5" shorter belt instead? Is it losing tension or is it tweaking the pulley in your circumstance?

Yeah that won’t work for me, I’ve been reading up on this issue and I’ll probably try the 3 belt method to delete the power steering pump relaxation bracket. I’ve been reading that spacer bracket is a common issue with this problem. Hopefully I’ll have her fixed today or tomorrow

Save some time and buy a continental belt close to the same length as the one you have, and adjust the tension and that belt will never fly off

I run 3 belts, one stretch fit from cranknto wp. Works best for me. I lost way too many belts with the relocation kit.
Yeah I’ve been tossing belts and Ive re aligned the wp bracket and mount a bunch of times, so I’ll do the three belt method and remove the wp bracket completely. Hopefully I’ll have some time tomorrow to get it done if the weather allows

So I did the three belt method, the one belt was kind of thought to walk in but its on and it isn’t going anywhere, we did a couple of hard test hits and it seems solid. I’m glad this is done :)
