Damn you've got me tempted to drive out there on Saturday to meet up with you all on Sunday so I can cruise the pass with a fat pack of DSMs. Am I insane for not worrying about the 150-200 in gas that'd cost me? :dsm::talon::laser: makes me crazy
 
Yeah, for you Yakima and Oregon fellas, you guys can meet up as a small group and cruise over to the meet.

I think this is going to be a really good meet.
 
The car is about to be put into the body shop.
So well see if its ready by the meet.

Ifnot Ill ride along with one of the many that will be going.

hey! thats not nice....i unfortunately sold out ....sold my 12 sec talon for a hatch :[ miss this dsm love. Wish i still had it so i could join! damn the big H

Spun a bearing. ###### not going to have my car there unless I get some help.
I may endup having to go to salem to get another shortblock and swap some shit over, and fix it.

DD my car, putting around like grandpa does and the random knocking comes.
Sure enough, spun a bearing.
 
I'll still make it however.
Just need to be in a car that can keep up with you guys unless someone wanted to hitch me and the ol gf along.

Otherwise I need someone local to help me do a swap, and possibly a place to do it? (very limited, my garage I used to use is full with house remodeling shit)
 
Zak if you find a place to do the work I'd be glad to help you with the swap. Can't be anywhere near as much of a nightmare as getting in the whole 6bolt bottom/ 7bolt head hybrid and that took me the greater part of a day.
 
I'm going to talk to my father and see if they will let me use their garage at their new house, that they really don't want me getting grease stains on.

But, unless one of you local has a good shortblock with good compression, It looks like I'll be driving to Salem thursday to pick up the 6 bolt block with pistons, rods, crank, and caps. Then take all my parts off my car now and swap them over.

I'm going to need to purchase bearings, rings, and gaskets (maybe a mitsu 4-layer with some ARPs) and hopfully get it done by January 13th.
Car was running great, then just pooped on me. Sucks, but here goes another adventure!

PM me if anyone has a shortblock or can give me a hand.

LOL you to huh, i just got everything back from the machine shop on friday and the new bearings will be here thursday... i hope i will haved enough time to break her in. otherwise ill be the slowest 470hp dsm there:(:notgood:
 
Yeah, Mike is a really neat guy to talk with.

I've got you added bro. how long ago did you speak with Mike? me and him spoke over the phone and pretty much I just need another block to switch parts over to. I'm gonna order everything from extremepsi and hopfully have them here by January 1st.
 
I have a video camera, but no experience cutting it up and putting it back together. I can send the files to someone who can make it pretty. I will actually have footage of the whole thing I hope. Send a PM if you can help. :dsm:Peace
 
Sorry to hear about the spun bearing. I took mine apart because the bearing was making a rattle noise. All four were shot! But the new motor build is now back into the car. tonight is installing the 23 spline tranny and a xfer case from Josh (Spook). Thanks bud!!!! My 22 spline was makine some funny noises so do not want to chance anything breaking right now. I should get the tranny in, everything plugged in, and the new FMIC and IC Pipes installed this weekend so I have a few weeks to get some break-in miles on it. WOOOHOOOOO!!!!
 
well im a 100% sure i can make it now. hopefully ill have my new fmic on by then. i also hope i will have my paint job done by then but i still have to paint my other truck first so well see if i have paint on my talon by then.

one of my friends might come with me in my car just to video tape and be there. hes thinking about getting a dsm so he wants to come.

Even tho he will probably want to get an AWD dsm, my GF might be selling her FWD 92 Laser, 1Gb Turbo. She will be bringing it to the meet.... unless she sells it first.
