J Pipe Install ?

I have a evo 16g on my car right now i have a 95 gsx. WHere i had it installed they did not get me a J pipe THey used a 1st gen j pipe and then connected soft pipe to that and ran it down to my intercooler. I had a problem lastweekend where the soft pipe disconnected Not COOL. SO i ordered a j pipe From forced performance. SO i went to install it yesterday and there is a line goinging into the 1stgen jpipe it is a very thin line that was comming off from the line from the wastegate to something else. THey Put a tee inbetween them and brought that line to the j pipe. ON the forced perfromance j pipe there is no hole where this line should go should i just take that line off and cap the tee or do i need that line?

thats ur pressure fitting.

it'swhere you mbc would be hooked up to, its ok you can use the line from the BOV instead for a MBC...
but that line i believe goes to ur boost solenoid (I could be mistaken)

When i didn't have my pressure fitting I just connected my MBC from the BOV to the little one on that wastegate arm (i dont know the tech term of it)

do u have a mbc?

Yea i do have an Mbc but im not gonna hook it up just yet I will try and get a pick. But if i removed it it wont do anything to the car?

I think you cant remove it because then your boost might go crazy...

Put a T between your Bov line and wherever that goes and that case when you get your boost controller u don't have to do any more wiring


BUT

your boost solenoid wil be useless when u get your mbc it shouldnt even be having and hoses coming off ot it.

so just put in ur MBC now...


so add a T from your bov line to that wastegate line

and stick your MBC in the middle of the new line

then disconnect the other hoses from your boost solenoid, and u should be fine.

Most boost controllers that are manual install with a T fitting on the nipple on top of the bov. Also the other line comes from the wastegate nipple to the bov.

I would just put your mbc in now. you will be much happier with that choice of action.

Haha yea but cant u see the line coming out of the stock j pipe and going down into the tee. The mbc i have right now is a homemade one so i dunno if i wanna trust that. But all i need to know is if i can take the line off that is coming out of the stock j pipe and into the tee off?

My friend told me that if i take that line off the stock jpipe and tee it into my boost guage line will that work?

stock boost gauge or aftermarket?

either way i dont think that will work... as it will push more air and make it look like ur running 30psi or something

Aftermarket. WHat he said that line is for is for ur wastegate to feel boost. THerefore if u put it on the guage line it will be feelin pressure and it will be a more accurate reading becuase it is the furthest away form the turbo so all the boost that is lost while going through the pipes is read correctly

For some reason I thoguth you were going to be hooking it into both, i was confused, my bad, I was told the best spot to put your boost controller to be very accurate that is. is next to the back of the intake manifold on the very top right corner of your engine, i forget but whatever one it that is where im tapped into...

Yea that is where i put mine, So he told me to take the wire out of the j pipe and tap it into my boost guage line.
