I was wondering if my gas mileage would change if I added a maft setup and a s-afcII to my car. I have a 92 eagle talon tsi awd .........mods are k&n air filter, full 3" turboback exhaust, manual boost controller.

I want to get responses from 1gen owners as there might be some differences between 1st gen and 2nd gen gas mileage.

If anything, I want my car to get the best gas mileage possible. I drive like a grandma at times, keep all my tires properly inflated, and do routine maintenance.

So..........will adding a maft setup and safc change my gas mileage?

I do about 90% highway driving every day, and about 10% city driving. Im usually driving at about 65 mph on the highway most of the time. I want to know if I can adjust the settings on the maft and safc so that i can get better gas mileage when im driving on the highway.

I read about a lot of dsm's on here saying that they get "xx" amount of miles per gallon. When i check their mod list, they have a lot of modifications, most often, maft and safc.

How is it possible to get such good gas mileage with so many modifications to their car.
I can't complain, both of my awd's give me great gas mileage.....pretty close to 300 miles to the tank, if not a lil more. But yet again, I have hardly any real performance mods done.

So, another question, is it possible to adjust the maft and safc so that i can get better gas mileage when im driving on the highway?

I am not a 1g owner but I have a MAFT setup on my 2G and I gained 2 MPG on the Freeway after adjusting my BASE and MID for highway driving using the Translator knobs. The 2g runs Rich if the 1G runs rich from the factory then you should be able to pick up some mileage. Sorry for butting in.

PS
I am getting 27 mpg on the freeway and around 360 miles on a tank before I fill up. In mixed driving I fill up at around 300 - 330 miles of driving with this setup.
