Do I need those crow feet flare nut wrench ... things? Also, do I keep that metal support to loosen that lower nut? Having trouble getting leverage on it. Almost bent the fuel line

Yes you do need a line wrench. You also need a wrench to hold the filter. IF you don't put a wrench on the filter also than you will twist the line off every time.

Pb blaster, wd-40, or liquid wrench are your friends. No heat! Haha I read that tip once from here and was like WTF

If you can find somewhere for one of the wrenches to be wedged, you don't have to use both hands to hold two wrenches :thumb:

You definitely need a flare nut wrench...14 mm I believe. As previously stated, will need another wrench for the filter itself. Those buggers are tough to get off if it's the original! I didn't have liquid wrench handy when I did mine. Just had to man handle it, and like I said...it was tough. I actually slightly bent my fuel line getting it out, but it was very minor. I was lucky. Good luck!

You need a wrench on the filter to hold it in place so you dont bend the line. The another wrench on the line. Its very hard to get it off. Of course you should take everything in your way out like the battery. With the charcoal canister out and battery trays, you can get more room to work.

Here's where I am. It wont budge and im afraid im torqing it the wrong way. There isnt any chance yiu gotta go clockwise to loosen this one is there? I did use wd40. Do I just keep pushing? Btw, is that fuel line easy and cheap enough to replace? I think I may ruined it :(.

I'm also afraid I'm about to round the nut. Is that why those line wrenches are recommended? Do they grip better or something?

Yeah you're right, instead of contacting only two angles, line or tubing wrenches grab four, so more surface area. And yeah you're going the right way. No reverse threads or anything like that. You might have more luck taking out the battery tray, I don't know how much help that is for NT, but on a turbo car the tray is pretty in the way

Oh and make sure the bottom wrench is on the very bottom fitting (closest to fuel line)just incase your on the fuel filter fitting

No, its on the right one, 14mm, while the other is a 19mm. Alright then, I may take my chances and keep going or go shopping for those wrenches. Thanks

If you do end up rounding an edge you might try a good quality vice grip but again I don't know how much room there is for that. Can you use the wrenches on the bottom fittings instead of one on bottom and one at top of filter? That way it could be more solid concentrated force

I looked at my filter earlier just tryin come up with ideas while doing my brakes

ill give u my personal advice. don't waste time trying to take anything off yet. go borrow an impact gun and keep the filter bolted up to whatever its bolt on. use the impact gun and just blast the bolt a couple of times. trust me on this. it took me almost 3 hours to figure out how to do it and than it hit me. keep the filter lock down and just used a impact gun with enough torque to blast the bolt out. easy. don't loose the two shims that's on the bolt. good luck

almost forgot there is another bolt on the bottom of the fuel filter if i remember correctly. use an impact gun and get that filter out.

I literally just did mine the other day. 19mm on top, 14 on bottom.
Removing the battery tray would help considerably but definitely isn't necessary.

Honestly don't remove the the two bolts that hold the filter in place, you will bend the line like I did.

Tony are you saying to hold a wrench on the bottom fitting and then use the 19mm impact on top of filter to actually undo the filter from the line? You can't get an impact on the bottom...
