Is two wastegate's possible?

I was looking at an internally gated GT3040R and even with a 38 mm internal the thing will still probly creep to hell. Since I already have a flange on my manifold for external, I wondered if it would be relatively simple to run both an internal and external 38mm wastegate.......

I would doubt very seriously if you could get that to work. Find one that works and go with that.

Good Luck

Just get a bigger WG.

Most DSMrs do shit like this and wonder why their t88 aem blah blah setup drives like crap and runs 13's.

Theres a theory called KISS. Stands for "Keep It Simple, Stupid". Just live by that. Look at any hardcore DSMs that go fast and you'll see they have.

With proper porting of the exhaust housing, my GT30R with a sbr housing/38mm internal gate holds 12psi to red line.

No, no, no, no I'm definatly not attempting this, it was just an idea that popped into my head and I thought I would throw it out on the chopping block to see what you guys thought.

I know AMS designed a kit that uses duel externals however they are identical units with identical springs. Probably easier to tune

Cool, I'm not worried about the 30r as much as with the 40 compressor wheel.

Thats good to know though.

Is it all garrett or hybrid?

Hybrid, SBR GT12, same idea in porting though. Just make sure you port the turbine housing in all of the right places and you should be fine.

Thats the one I was thinkin of....

weld your internal gate closed.
my manifold is only flanged for a 38mm wastegate, I don't think that would be enough to control a GT3040. Ive been talking to a guy on dsmtalk who's having trouble controlling a gt35R with external 38

we use two wastegates on our GT42R kit becuase it has a divided Housing. Controlling the exhast gas from a divided collector and Exhuast housing would be very irratic with one wastegate. so we have one from each end sampling exhaust gasses. Its nothing new. Big turbo guys have been doing it for a while. we did it a couple of years ago on Tim's white 1G.

TurboTrix racing just released photos of their shop Evo. They're using dual wastegates with an AGP GT42 turbo. But they're also probably going to be running stupid high amounts of boost as well.

I don't know how big a PTE SCM61 is compared to the GT3040 you're running, but I do have a friend who is running that in his Galant, and he's internally gated and holding 23 psi no problem. He did do a bit of porting around the wastegate area, but he has it running quite well.

How high is your friend revving? I'm worried about creep above 7800-8000
