Ok

after rooting around under the hood looking for a brown plug,or a black/green wire.I read the plug to ground for setting base timing on a 1g is right behind the battery.Is it the plug in the picture on the right? Btw it has a yellow wire with a red stripe......

Yup that's the guy just remove the cap and ground out the pin inside.

Correct connector, just remove cap and ground for timing adjustment.

Timing was 10 degrees off.it was never checked after the previous owner replaced the timing belt and head.
