Is this the correct part kit to repair my door handle?

Hi,

My door handle snapped on me while I was getting into my car the other day. The only part that broke is the actual part that you grab (which I still have). It just snapped right off.

I searched the tech article section and this is what I found as a repair kit: Door Handle Repair Kit

Is that all I need to put my broken handle back on? Or is there more to it than that?

EDIT: Been reading a few threads and some people are saying that you have to replace the entire assembly. You can't just replace the "grab" part. Is this true?

I would just get a replacement set. They are an extreme pain in the a** to swap out just as a heads up. I can bet that everyone on the site has done it or will do it in the near future. Its a simple set up its just being able to fit your hand in there and get the lever hooked in the handle with the little plastic piece.

That kit will help strengthen at new set if you just buy a set of new ones and add that support kit you will prob never have it snap again. Good Luck brother use the searches to find write ups on the topic.

I just don't want to have to pay someone to paint it to match my car. So I would prefer to put the original one back on if possible.

I've seen the black ones on ebay for like 15-20 dollars I just don't want a black handle if I don't have to.

You don't have to pay anyone to paint it, you can get a can of paint matched to your car color for like 15 bucks from any parts store that mixes paint.

Get new door handles, and the kit. The door handles on 2gs and Avengers/Stratus/Sebrings suck and break all the time.

I've never owned a 2g that didn't come with a broken door handle, or had at least 1 break while I owned it. That kit strengthens them up nicely. Its worth the money. And you can easily get a can of paint at most autoparts stores or google paintscratch
