Is this oil pan shot?

I decided to play wackamole when I couldn't get my oil pan off. I used a punch to remove as many dents as I could but I believe that the damaged area is too close to the pickup.

Not sure what is up with the crappy pictures...it is a humid day today.

Am I right?

Thanks

If it is not leaking I wouldn't be worried. I have seen a lot of banged up dam oil pans. I think you can get a new one from Autozone for around $70.

I am just worried because I think it is in the area of the pickup. I don't think that there is a lot of room between the bottom of the oil pan and the pickup in that area. Not itching for a new pan, but also not opposed to getting a new one at all either.

Not bad. The pick up screen that you are worried about would have to be the bottom of the pan, not the side.

If your worried about it, when you have the pan out.l, measure from bottom where pan bolts tkcthe bottom of the pick up. Then measure the dented pan from bolt side to bottom where is dented if its in fact where the pick up is

Thanks, I know it is hard to see but the bottom of the pan is dented as well. (In the area that the side is smashed)....might be eating my words...not entirely sure if it is smashed on the bottom.

Chunk of 2x4 and a BFH, and a semi-solid surface.. Just pop the bottom back out.

Then lay it on the block, dry, no sealer, no gasket as long as the warp is less than 1/8 of an inch, all will be good.

Sounds like lots of fun! :D Thanks
