Found this in my oil pan

I have a picture of a bearing i found in my oil pan, car runs drive no knock.
car has 20k original miles on it 1 owner.

JUSmx141 posted the picture and it was close. However, it wasn't the exact thing my suggestion is you take it to the stealership and ask them what it is. Someone who is really into cars there will more than likely know exactly what it is and will be thrilled to show the rest of the shop what was found in the oil pan. Mechanics are junkies and when anomalies like this happen it's like uncut, raw, sh*t to their veins. Who knows, maybe you'll make a friend down there and get better pricing on OEM things. Couldn't hurt...

Yeah because a dealership full of guys who likely haven't worked on many of these cars will know better than all the people on this site who work on them exclusively.

Oh bryan, you're right what was I thinking?!? The 4G63, T,4G64 and 420A motor is exclusive to the 1 and 2G DSM's of the nineties. OH boy, I should go play in traffic right now...

REALLY??? I know at my local stealership there are a FEW mechanics who not only have worked on DSM's, not only own DSM's but work on the uh, what's those machines called, oh yeah, the EVO's oh yeah what motors do those kids run in them? Oh yeah... More than likely with all of the cuts Mitsubishi has gone through, bankruptcy and what not only the older generation MAY remain behind as they cut all the younger, less seasoned mechanics. It was only a SUGGESTION and not gospel. Your post (just like this one) doesn't help the thread so why even waste your time? Just to see your number go up one, to seem uber cool in front of the kids by flaming someone trying to help? Next time PM me or whomever you want to flame directly if you've got something to say, cause your sh*t doesn't even help the thread what-so-ever.

The thread question has been resolved, there is no help to give. Yes you might have a guy or 2 that knows about these cars at your local dealers, but around here i can school all the tech's at Mitsubishi or Chrysler. And yes i spend countless hours of my life on here posting just to watch my post count go up.

Your suggestion was absolutely awful. I hope OP does it, and brings a video camera with him so we can hear the responses these dealership mechanics think it is. They work at a DEALERSHIP,not a machine shop.

I don't see your point- the local Mitsu dealer royally fuct an Evo X that belonged to a buddy of mine to the point where he got fed up and sold the car. Why? They didn't know how to work on it.

If they can't properly work on a car that is 2-3 years old which they should be TRAINED to work on, why am I to believe they know anything about my 15-year-old GSX? Many of the techs there were probably in middle school when my car was new.


That being said, thread's resolved....we have our answer. Go flame somewhere else.

it was resolved the pic posted was correct. Thanks for the useless input after about going to the "stealership" but truth is they most likely aren't well educated like you on this matter.

Haha go granny go. And to the guy asking about the penny in the drain tube....alot of people like to block off the drain hole and use copper spray gasket. Alot even use bouncy balls and such. Maybe it fell and he said hell with it its okand boom penny.
