I found this eprom and was wondering if it was worth fixing? The red circle is the chip is burnt, the yellow circle is where the cap is leaking. This is not the actual board i pulled this off google cause i didnt have a camra at the time. I will try to take real pics ASAP. Just wanted to get some opinions on what to do with it or just pitch it.

Any problem can be fixed with the right incentive.

Talk to steve piette. In fact you can google him and find his website. IMO, other ECU repair places (motoguy's garage, foreign ECU repair, etc.) are not as good as steve in terms of actual work and dsm knowledge.

It depends on how much you're willing to spend. If fixing it is cheaper than buying another EPROM, then I would pay to ahve it fixed.

A buddy of mine fixes 1g EPROMS, burns chips, tunes, etc. PM me and I can get you in contact with him.

It's always worth having EPROM ECU looked at and get a quote. Sometimes the port expander or CPU chips are blown and there is nothing that can be done but usually with some TLC they can be repaired.

90 GSX, Thanks for the plug. I was out in your area last week on the other side of the bay, hanging out in Palo Alto.

Ill probly get it fixed cause it looks pretty good just the caps are leaking an that one little chip. For all i know it might work i havent tried it out. My buddy told me about a guy in our area of Vero Beach, FL and he was always on this site. I cant seem to find him.
