Is this an ACT 2100 or 2600?

I called SFI and all they could tell me was that it was an ACT product, obviously.

I don't know if there is any way to tell them apart but I am sure if there is the guys at ACT could tell you.

I'm interested in this topic as well. I just bought a 2900 with my stroker from a buddy. I am just curious for the future though. I didn't see any markings one mine, then again I didn't look very hard...

that is a 2100 the 2600 has bumps (ovals) that raise up out of some of the fingers. There are towards the bottom. Yours does not have these so that makes it a 2100.

^Correct!

Here's some pictures of the two that I took.

Snow, Isn't that second pic an Extreme 2600 pressure plate though?

My old pressure plate was a 2600 heavy duty and did not have the raised oval bumps.

I think only recently have ACT changed and introduced the extreme 2600 pressure plate. I guess it really depends on how old that pressure plate is.

ok will a 2600 act be good for 450whp or will i need to upgrade???/

It should be, but you might want to use a different disc. A member on here, twicks69, used a 2600 pressure plate and Southbend clutch disc and was making over 600hp.

My brother said that ACT has possibly made a revision.

All I know is it's a 2600. I bought it off a friend who had a few fingers snap off his 2600. This was the pressure plate ACT sent him as a warranty replacement. You can see the date on the packaging in the picture (6/9/2008).

This cannot be true. I've seen a 2600 without any bumps on the fingers. It may be a relatively new change from act.

3 years later yes, but have some new info to add. My Extreme 2600 didn't have the oval bumps, but it WAS made back in 2005...

And this is what you look for when calling ACT to figure if it's 2600 or not:

MJcanada, FYI this thread is 3 years old

Exactly Cmax097, that's what was told to me by the ACT guys today when they looked up 121

Oh and ACT said on the 2600's they weld a reinforcement ring, shown on my pressure plate in post #13. It's the ring about 1/2" wide that circles the diaphragm fingers in the first picture post #13.

According to the people I talked to -and the website http://www2.advancedclutch.com/1205581/0/0/0/1991_MITSUBISHI_ECLIPSE_GSX_L4_2.0L_T_FI.html

"HD" is 2100. "Xtreme" is 2600.

An X or additional X's tacked onto MB-010 basically means more clamping force so "MB-010" is HD, "MB-010X" is Xtreme and "MB-010XX" is MaXX Xtreme

My clutch in post #13 was made in 2005 with marking 121 and act tells me that is the Xtreme / 2600.

This is my new -used- clutch that was made in 2003 with the marking MB-010X (verified 2600 as well)
