Just wondering what would be the best clutch for the fwd Laser. It is daily driven but does see the track on Friday nights.

Not to bring a dead thread back , but dont want to clutter up the site with another "which clutch is best thread"

I am not quite in the same situation , but never the less , I am looking for a new clutch.
Right now I have a stock 126k clutch. Most of the time I baby the car , it might see the track , 20 passes a year at best.Never a hint of slippage , or issues so thats not why I need a new one.
When I was making 231 fwhp , it ( the stock clutch) felt fine , a few mods later and it still does. But soon there will be a few more and I will be at the 300 hp range and dont want a distroyed clutch so I need to upgrade soon.
For years I have read the confilcting reviews/opinions/research/data/etc....
I am looking for ultimate DD duty , and dont want to replace hard parts a lot. There for I am looking into the 2100 kit , possibly the 2600.
I do a lot of city driving , and dont mind using the clutch. Its not a matter of heavy pedal vs lite pedal.I just want a clutch that will hold 300 ish hp& 260-280 ft.lbs tq.
Should the 2100 be enough or do I really need the 2600???

im not shure how much hp i have because of no awd dyno near me but, ive already made about 30 passes this year and my 2100 holds just fine. But eventually when i do upgread for the 300-350 mark i will ###### go up to the 2600.

I am running around the 300whp and 280lbs torque and I can say that I love the feel of the 2600 I don't even notice anymore until I drive my friends bone stock eclipse rs and then get back in mine. Also, I rarely have hard starts on inclines.

I second that.....2600 all the way.

The "heavy pedal" isn't as bad as most people make it out to be.

My first test drive I stalled it a half dozen times because it grabs like no other....but by the time it was broke in, I was more adjusted to the feel and it is the smoothest thing I've driven yet and is unbelievable at the track.:thumb: :thumb:

Ok , so I think the 2600 is the way to go.
Quick dumb question , no matter which new F/W I go with , it should be stepped correctly right?
Or should I get it correctly stepped just in case?

Just make it simple and get an ACT FW and it will already be stepped correctly.

Search around for the best deal. You should be able to find the clutch and flywheel as a package that includes the alignment tool and TO bearing. It should be cheaper than buying them seperatley.

The best deals seem to be on centerforce clutch& act f/w , or act 2100&act fw.
BUt I will keep looking , its not so much a matter of money but a matter of getting it right the first time.
The more I read and research it seems people are still having issues with the 2600 springs. Is this still a issue?Or is this fading away?
I really only want to do this once.
