Ok, so im looking to get a 97 TSI and it's bone stock but has a clutchmaster 6 puck 2900 lbs pressure plate clutch installed. Is this bad for the car or will it destroy the tranny with just everyday driving? Thanks in advance

Wow that is a serious setup. I would get rid of that and put in an ACT street disk and 2100 pressure plate. If you plan on racing, who doesnt, then go with a 2600 PP. That 2900 is just silly and I would hate to drive that in traffic. Plus if the disk is unsprung then it will be hard to engauge smoothly. All of this will lead to broken drive line parts.

Alright, thanks for your input. Anyone else have some advice for me?

Nobody has asked the obvious question here.

What is that car doing with that clutch and why is he selling it now....If it is an awd I would bet on a broken center diff and other related tranny parts.

If it is a FWD I would give it a through work over...he may have put it in and now can't get traction because of it and be selling it like a fool. Talk him down on price because it is gonna drive like shat with that setup.

I would watch for BS because the 2900 is an act number not a clutchmasters number. Clutchmasters doesn't give pressure plate force as I have ever seen.
I also have never seen a 6 puck from clutchmasters available with a sprung disk....
