i read about how you can run automatic tranny fluid through the direct port vaccum on the throttle body and through a nother vaccum port on the manifold, then running water through. Basically you bring the rpms to 3500 and run half a qt of atf through the direct port on the TB, then follow with half qt of water, then do the same process on the other vacuum port. Does anybody have any info on this? tried it? does it work? and IS IT SAFE??
 
That's not going to do anything for lifters. If there's carbon build up on your valves and it's tapping every time they close or if there's huge build up on the pistons and the valves hit it, it will help those situations. The process is said to clean out the combustion chamber. I'd go with Sea Foam if you're just looking to do that. You can also poor Sea Foam into your oil and it is said to brake up carbon or deposits in the engine. This would make more sence as far as curing lifter tick. Personally, I just changed my oil and before adding the new stuff, I ran that gunk out engine flush stuff through for about 10 minutes at a fast idle. Almost all the annoying clicking went away.
 
Mine went away after I put Lucas oil stabilizer in my crankcase. Now, when I change my oil, I just replace one quart of the Mobil1 with the Lucas. It only cost about a dollar more than a quart of Mobil1.
