Since I bought my car (1 year ago) every morning the lifters have sounded for a couple of minutes. Lifters stopped sounding when it took its normal temperature. The rest of the day the engine never made noises.

Suddenly, since one week ago, lifters stopped making noise on the mornings and began making noises when the car rise its normal operation temperature. The noise is intermittent, sometimes it sounds and sometimes don't. If I turn off the car for a couple of minutes and then turned on again, lifters wouldn't sound until it reach again the normal temp.

Any idea of my noisy problem? what can I do?

My car is 1G Talon with 80000 miles on it. I change oil every 2000 miles.

Hope someone can help me and give me some advice

if you still got the warranty on your car, then go to your dealer and tell them you want new lifters. they are covered. thats what i did... getting new ones next week. i dont know if they are giving me 3g lifters or 2g lifters though.

I'am living in Mexico right now and Mitsu dealer won't give me any warranty

Does 1g, 2g and 3g lifters different? Does a 3g lifters would fit on a 1G car without any modification?

Would I need to change the valve cover gasket when replacing lifters? Must I buy it on Mach V or Eagle Import Automotive Parts... or there is something cheaper?

Thanks to everyone!:talon: :laser: :dsm: :thumb:

The 3g revised lifters sold at Mach V are a generic brand, so they are half the price of Mitsubishi brand lifters. They are the same thing though. 3g lifters will fit in a 1g, 2g, and 3g 4G63's, they have just redesigned the lifters several times to try to eliminate the ticking. THey are pretty easy to replace, just take off the valve cover, and use a screwdriver to pry off your rockers, then pull out the old one, and drop in the new one. You don't need to remove the cams, just go to www.vfaq.com for a detailed how to.
