Is the 50 trim supposed to be this laggy?

I maybe able to shed some light on this because I did the 50 trim maybe a bit early. So I can sorta let you know how its going to work out for you.

I did a 14b with AFC stock injectors worked well but I out grew it in about a month DSMJIM tuned it for me and it worked well @15 psi.

Got 550's and tuned to 18 psi pretty fast car. Worked well but went for a ride in Jims Car. That old 50 trim has some serious top end.

Ordered mine about 2 weeks later and installed it. Got it in with the 550's and tuned to 15psi and it worked well if it was cold and short runs heat but any longer and it heat soaked and lost tons of power. So I saved some more and installed 660's first and drove it for about 2 months and then got the FMIC Biggest gain out of anything. My car pulls like crazy and like everyone is telling you NOTHING till 4 grand. Once my car hits 4 grand look out cuz its on a mission. I start to spool at 3500 and hit full boost by 4 grand. I hit it at the same rpm weater it be 15 psi or 20 psi depending on where the dual stage boost control is.

That's not the point that he's making. You should have bought so many other parts first before even considering a turbo of that size. I understand that your turbo went bad, but I'm sure someone here has a pretty good working T-25 that you could've bought at a substantially cheaper price, or at least you could've bought a 14b with the jpipes once again at a cheaper price.

But no use in going back to old shit. You already have it, and now know your not getting any decent efficiency out of that turbo until you get the mods first. I'd personally stay off the car as much as possible until you either get a smaller turbo, or the supporting mods.
 
I'm gonna start with getting the fuel management set up with 660's first and then save to get the FMIC as soon as possible I'll let you know how it works out later. Thanks
 
I currently own a 50 trim, and with the stock exhaust on the car, it spools full by 4100. To be honest with you though, from the way you are making it sound, you have no way to monitor your car other than the stock gauges + maybe a boost gauge. You need to A: park your car and not drive it, or B: Drive like a grandma and never let that thing spool. Without being able to properly cool the air or supply enough fuel for that turbo you will knock. Last I remember, the ecu won't throw a CEL for high knock. You could easily destroy your motor doing what you are doing. For that turbo, you need fuel pump, injectors, some way to cool the charged air, some way to monitor everything, intercooler piping, etc. I could imagine that your throttle response on that 50 trim w/ stock intercooler/piping is horrible.

Btw, what is your Lowe's intake made of?
