I just installed my Prosport Electrical Oil Pressure gauge and did a balance shaft elimination kit (BSEK). I installed the bearings from the BSE kit properly to block the oil ports where the balance shafts used to be. I am wondering what kind of oil pressure I can be expecting when I start it back up.

Idle Pressure when completely cold-?
Idle pressure when completely warm-?
Oil pressure @ mid-RPM range-?
Oil pressure @ WOT near 6500-7000RPMs-?

Any input you can offer is greatly appreciated. Thank You.

I have an Autometer oil pressure guage and I run 20w-50 weight oil, so your results may vary.(will be lower with 10w-30etc.) Here's what my guage looks like for reference.
Auto Meter 4327 Ultralite Short Sweep Electrical Oil Pressure Gauge

And here are the readings I get on it... (these are approximate)

Idle Pressure when completely cold-90psi.
Idle pressure when completely warm-just under the 25psi mark
Oil pressure @ mid-RPM range-50-75psi range (when fully warmed up)
Oil pressure @ WOT near 6500-7000RPMs-75+psi (when fully warmed up)

Hope this helps get you in the ballpark of what to expect:)

As above

Mine is cold idle 75psi
Warm idle 25psi
General driving 50-75psi
WOT 75psi

No BS's and (very) ported housing..

my readings at:
Idle cold:100psi (or right around)
warm Idle:10psi@1k
warm cruise:50psi@3k
WOT:75psi
I have a mechanical autometer phantom running right from the oil filter housing. I was under the impression that factory oil pressure was 8-11 @ 750 rpm. I'm running Mobil 1 15w50.

what is this WOT business? oil pressure is dependent on rpm and oil temperature, not throttle position or vehicle speed. it doesn't matter either if you are sitting still or moving. :thumb:

I have a 1g with stock oil pressure gauge how do i read it? I wanna know that my oil is doin its job at cold startup, fully warmed up,and at wot.
The factory oil pressure gauge is only useful for letting you know if you have pressure or not. It's not an accurate tool for determining how much oil pressure you have, and it's movement isn't all that consistant at all. I would definitely recommend an aftermarket oil pressure gauge of some sort. It's probably the most important gauge to have on a DSM aside from a boost gauge.

^^ Agreed

I see round 90-100 on cold startup (in winter, when its like 10 out)
Warm, drops to around 10-20 at idle
While driving, normal speeds anywhere from 40-60
WOT runs, hitting round 80-85

All cars are different however...
