Garret GT equivalent to the 50 trim?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

The map in question is apparently being given out by some other turbo shop and is being represented as the map for the 700177-11.

This was the map I was given about 10 months ago by a Garrett master distributor. As far as I am concerned it was the right map...... However, it looks very similar to the one I was just sent again, but using the 7 blade 0011 CHRA. I have to trust my source when I receive this info.

Only difference between this map and the gt37 map is the amount of air flow ( GT-0011 flows more air ), and the fact the GT37 can run higher boost levels ( which means nothing when you are talking pump gas power, IMO ).

Please also remember these comp maps everyone looks at are in many different Garrett turbine housings, and often have the TW or to4s style compressor covers.

The -13 uses the 60-1 compressor wheel.

The first release of the 700177-0013 did use the larger wheel, they have since went back to the 60-1 style wheel.

There's a lot of BS and bad info out there, be careful who you listen to

I love it when you talk dirty! Makes you sound so mean :)

I will send new maps if people are curious.

Regards,

Mike Huml

We'll sell you a GT37 right now if you want. But you would need a custom manifold and lots of other custom parts to fit it on your car.
A lot more to buying a cool turbo than just a good compressor map.

Yea, I realized that when I saw the divided turbine housing on the pdf file. I am glad that Garrett finally went with a divided housing for the smaller turbine housings that we can use. :D

Do you guys plan on selling another SFP manifold to take advantage of this in the future any time soon?

Fpr a new guy who just bought an EVO III big 16G this post was very interesting! If/when i upgrade I see many garrett comp housings mated to mthe Mitsu turbine housing for ease of fit. Is this good for anything other thn fit. In other words can a good ppump gas turbo be had with a stock Mitsu turbine hosing?
Please list a couple of "good on pump gas" turbo options. Ramchargers sells a bunch of turbo's all for $995. but with diffrent comp wheels.??
Dejontool who I respet sells a 50trim on a Mitsu turbine housing. Is this one of the good on pump gas turbo's?
Nice to see a post with minimal argueing and almost some information! Thanks, mark

could a 50 trim be built with a ball bearing center?
I'm still curious about the answer to this question. Maybe I am unaware of somebody's BB 50-trim, especially one that uses a Mitsu turbine housing. Is there one, even if it doesn't use a Mitsu turbine housing?

www.ongreenperformance.com has a divided t4 housing. It is based off the HKS manifold and is supposed to be pulse driven.

Its a near exactl replica of the HKS manifold. I have dealt with that company before and they all seem like honest people FWIW. If I had the money buy that manifold I would have. The HKS design seems to have the best of all worlds other than its weight.

Having a thick sturdy manifold is a good thing imo. Especially if it is something your spending that type of money.

All tubular manifolds crack. It is just a fact of life.

Didn't AGP used to sell a T4 manifold? I don't see it anymore, was it not divided?

If you want a ball bearing alternative to the 50 trim, I'd recommend getting a GT30R. It's rated at around 500 peak flywheel horse compared to the 50 trim's 450 peak. Pretty similar in my opinion. - Brian

Turbonetics or Innovative will build you a ball bearing turbo with any wheel housing combination you desire.
