is safc2 woth 150? or safc for 100?

which is better i am geussing 2 but is it worth another 50?
 
Definately worth the extra 50 bucks due to it have more adjustments for Rpm levels. Also better supports for bigger injectors so in my opinion an extra 50 well spent.
 
i bought my safc2 for 60 bux, im sure u can find one for less than 150
 
That is to much money for either of them, look into tuning with the ostrich and tunerpro software on the cheap, or check out ECMlink V3 lite.
 
what is the ceddy mod and how much is it to ship the ecm link cause i might save for it until next christmas


and ecm link is a EMS?
 
shipping on link depends on your ecu, if you have a socketed eprom already they will just ship you the chip and then it's almost negligible shipping. if you want them to install the chip, or if you need a socket/eprom conversion done, you will have to ship your ecu to them, and also pay return shipping i believe
 
Link to ship you pick the service so its your choice, depends on location but it shouldnt be more than 20 bucks if that.
 
Ya, go for link. SAFC is outdated technology with lots of limitations

Take a peek at your ecu which is located behind the radio. If it has an E as the last letter than it's eprom. You most likely have one, but it is best to verify.

It isn't socketed unless a previous owner of the ECU did it. None came that way from the factory.
AEM EMS is technically better than link but it is more difficult to tune with and you will really need someone who knows what they are doing to help you get the car running right.

ECMlink is very user friendly and it comes with great support both from ECM Tuning themselves and from the vast knowledge base that is the link forums that you get access to when you buy it.

Also unless you are building a crazy race car and really pushing it you won't see any of the advantages of EMS over link. It's benefits mostly lie in the outer edge of tuning.

If you want an easy and light tuning software, grab the safc-2 and wait for link in the future. (That is if you want to make some decent power)...Safc-2 can't change your overall timing advance so Caution.

SAFC-2 is a piggy back system. It allows you to essentially trick your ecu, install bigger injectors, and you tune by adding and subtracting fuel, But, Your ecu will still follow its factory timing curve. So it's not the best tuning software to squeeze every drop of power out. It also lacks qualities that DsmLink has..explained in the paragraph below.

Dsmlink V3 utilizes an Eprom chip, you must get a socketed 1G ecu for this to work, and also you must buy the Dsmlink kit. Comes with a 2.0 data cable, the Eprom chip, and the software cd. Dsmlink allows you to take full control of your Ecu from adjusting your fuel trims, to changing your total timing advance (where the safc-2 lacks). Dsmlink also features numerous check boxes that allow you to turn trouble codes off like rear 02's, IAC valve, etc. It also has on board logging which allows you to monitor while you tune. You can use speed density and go maf-less, or buy a cable for a GM maf and go translator-less.

Link is the BEST option for anybody with a dsm whether it be tuning little to big power because it was specifically made for OUR cars only.

I was just saying if you could pick up a safc-2 for like $60-$80 just to mess around with and get used to tuning, that would be a good idea.
 
Link is user friendly and you should be able to get started, then learn as you go. Im no tuning expert but if you know the baiscs, you shouldnt have any problems, plus the forums are there to help.

You don't need to remove the EPROM, all tuning changes are done using a laptop while every thing is in the car. You can change anything you want petty much instantly.
