Is FWD worth modding? (Road course NOT drag racing)

Here is the story. I have a nice condition 1990 Talon TSI. Talons are fairly scarce where I live so its not like I had the pick of the litter when I purchased it. Aside from the fact that it’s FWD it’s in great shape and really hauls ass. I already have a few mods into it like UICP, Full Thermal RD Exhaust and a few other things. I keep wanting to put more money into it for a 16g and manifold and a few others things but keep wondering if I am just dumping money when I should really look for an AWD and dump money into that.

The main question is that I do NOT drag race. I will be taking this car on the road course. Almost all the posts on the other “Is FWD worth modding” Thread seemed to be only taking into account drag racing. Traction this, traction that, but when I am on the road course Its not like im dumping the clutch and drag racing. So if my only intention is to build a semi-fast track car (not drag), am I ok spending some cash on the FWD, or am I just wasting my money when I should really be looking for an AWD. Basically I am looking for FWD VS AWD on a road course. And if you suggest i keep the FWD what are some suggestions (sway bars) etc.

Thanks

To the guy pretty far above...I'm to lazy to quote and my computer is too slow:

JIC is a company that makes a full, true coilover suspension set-up.

Like Tien, or Eibach or H&R...JIC is just a company...if you search around you could learn more about their suspension.

Tien also makes a good system, the Flex Damper which is full coilover as well...I think JIC is a little more adjustable though...and maybe a little better...but it is more expensive.

FWD is just fine. In fact I LOVE my FWD Talon. I have owned my fair share of RWD cars, including an RX-7 and I can honestly say I enjoy my FWD more than any of the RWD car's I've owned. I love the way it's so damn predictable. It's almost TOO easy to drive fast in the corners. I have never once scared myself in the Talon. I feel so damn confident driving it. I can slide it around corners and take long sweeping curves with the rear tires screaming the whole time without ever thinking "Please stay on course" because its' so easy to manipulate and feel exactly what's going on.

I realize that AWD would probably be even more fun in the corners, but my point is FWD can be damn fun and definitly worth modding. I'll never sell My FWD Talon, it's just too damn fun. :D
