Long story, a long time ago I had a non turbo DSM that I drove for close to 8 years, it had tons of work including head work and other stuff, eventually it blew up and I drove a random neon for a good 2 years. Recently picked up a 1998 TSI AWD and loving the turbo awd :hellyeah:. However for the last 3-5 years I kind of lost interest in cars in general mainly because 1 my non turbo had all the work done that you can do to a non turbo about 2 years into owning it and it was a slow non turbo, plus school and all that, I just lost touch.

Fast forward to today, I have a completely stock 98 TSI AWD, even stock radio. It goes in next week to get timing belt done as well as tranny diff and transfer case fluid and a new water pump. I am currently working so I do have some steady income.

I am recently excited to mod this car but I am having second thoughts about it. there are 2 possibilities

1) I could just be excited about having a new car and not really wanting to mod cars just to jump into modding this one and then realize that it was a waste of money

2) My interest in cars could actually be rekindled and I should start working on this car and realize that the money was well spent.

So my question to you guys, Should I spend the money on stage 1 mods? the car itself needs new paint so i would have to do that too.If I did mod it I would likely do intake/exhaust/boost gauge/mbc/IC piping/bigger SMIC/DP/fuel pump/16g/paint/rims/CF hood/lowered a bit/racing bucket seats. that would be my plan so far.

Curious if its worth upgrading, I was thinking another option would be save my money and buy a lancer raliart in about 4 years and just keep it stock until then. it does need to be my DD for those 4 years too. :hmm:

Thoughts?

DO it. :thumb:

...The fact that you haven't already decided to keep it stock means that the mod 'bug' bit you and you are looking for someone to convince/reinforce the decision you already want to make.:aha:

Why else would you have bought a talon AWD, when you could have kept the neon or simply buy another mainstream pedestrian car? :hmm:
