Is a 50 mm wastegate too big for an hy35?

im trying to find a wastegate that will bolt to the flange i have. The flange is an hks, i dont have the money for them so i was going to get an external. People have good luck with the TiAL style ebay ebay wastegates, but what about the hks style?

this is an ebay one for 65 shipped. do you think it will work fine. ive seen people use the ebay Tial but i havent seen anyone with the hks ebay style.

Depending how you are mounting the WasteGate, check clearance to the radiator, or power steering, and alternator, or hood. I think the old style 50mm are pretty long.

My 46mm is really close to the radiator.

Also the larger the WasteGate the more prone it is to blow open, so the proper spring is more important. Some of the WasteGates come with 5 psi springs, which will be useless past 15 psi.

WRT ebay gates I too have had good success with my 38mm gate with a bigger turbo than the OP. Yes the spring is too weak. 5psi -7psi. Good thing is I just added a tial inner spring and everything works excellent . No ripped diaphragms, no valve stem hanging up after lots of runs with high timing retard (high exhaust heat) to get a good tune in.

Probably consistant to 20ish psi. IF it really holds at 10psi. . . Ebay company. so you have to take what they advertise with a grain of salt.

i like the way your thinking dsm-monster. Will a tial spring work in this hks style wastegate?
i just got my ebay wastegate an hks style. I saw one ebay hks style that failed after two weeks but that thread was from 2003. Im going to see if mineeaks. They never say in this video if its an ebay or something else.
