I have a pic below of my wastegate setup, I bought the car with it included so I couldnt tell you much about it. I have no idea what size it is either unless some1 can tell from the picture, but anyway its a dump setup and I am overboosting. With my Greddy EBC hooked up with the gain and boost settings all the way down the gauge reads 29psi. When hooked directly to the manifold (Actuator bypassed) it reads 18psi. I want to get around 25psi and continue to use my ebc, I assume this wastegate is too big/spring too heavy for my setup right? Are all wastegate bolt patterns the same if so where can I order one for this manifold and what size should I get? Thanks.

If the boost is at 18 psi without the ebc hooked up that would lead me to believe the spring is for 18lbs. You may have the ebc hooked up incorrectly if you cant get it down to 18psi with it hooked up. I see you have the top nipple on the gate hooked up. Usually that nipple isnt used unless your trying to add to the spring pressure to raise boost levels.

Oh and that looks like an ebay 40mm. If the ebc is hooked up correctly you wont need a whole new gate. Just a spring.

I been looking around and yes, its an old xspower wastegate, and it has a big yellow spring with a 2.36" OD. According to what i've been reading, the big yellow should be set for 10psi. The pic of the wastegate is waaaay back when I first bought the car, after learning about wastegates I removed the top hose and it is now not being used. The EBC solenoid is hooked up correctly...I think. In one end, and out the other according to the arrow, the only discrepency is that there is some kind of weep hole or something in the side a 1.8"NPT. After finding it in a BLT. I plugged it, is this supposed to be used for anything? Maybe contributing to the high boost?? Thanks

Just to add, the wastegate spring you have in there is a 1.5bar spring, or ~22psi.

ahhhh ok xspower makes this tial knockoff so I assumed their springs were the same, thanks for your help!

Your boost controller solenoid is hooked up wrong. First, you should have not plugged the hole, that should vent to atmosphere. Second, you should have both the top and bottom nipples on the WG hooked up. Here's a link to the instruction manual if you don't have it: http://www.greddy.com/img/PHP/products/pdf/682.pdf

Basically you want to connect the top port of the wastegate to the COM port on the solenoid, bottom WG port to the NC port of the solenoid. Then tap a tee fitting into the line going from the bottom port to NC and connect that to a boost source such as the compressor cover or tap the LICP, if I remember correctly you do not want a source that will have vacuum so don't connect it to the intake manifold.

yep, i seen he had it hooked it hooked up wrong too, good eyes

ok I ordered a 6psi spring, and I will route the vacuum lines like you say, hopefully my low boost can be 18psi, and high 26psi. Thanks

*Resolved* I hooked up the actuator like you said and am getting good results with the weaker spring. Thanks!
