Ok so I have a 14b w/16g exhaust side. Recently im having trouble boosting. I went from 14psi to 12. Yhe one morning it wouldn't get over 8psi. Yesterday it spiked yo 8 then immediately dropped to 5. I remove my mbc thinking that it was bad and causing yhe failure in boost.

Upon removing the mbc and vac lines... I decided to see if yhe turbo was ok so I left open the wastegate and took off fown the road boost GREAT LOL (25psi). I plug the wastegate back into the I/c piping and again. .. 5psi! Do I search the wastegate to see that the nut on the actuator rod was completely loose. So now im assuming that was/is my isdue but after tightening the nut... im d till only at 5psi.

My turbo is set up as this---> 14b with 16g exhaust housing and 16g internal wastegate. Should I unhook the rod from the flapper and adjust tightness like that then rehook it up or can I adjust it while its still connected to the flapper and compressor housing?

Sounds like you have an ebay hotside/wastegate. How tight is the wastegate arm currently?

My mbc was on the car when I bought it last year and I believe its eBay brand and the hotside definitely is eba y cause the 26g that was on there said "turbocharger" on the compressor housing. But the 14b I bought had stripped out mani to turbo bolt holes and I had to use the hotside and the 14b wastegate eould not fit over the flapper. So I had to re use the wastegate from the 16g. The 14b wastegate is a dolid rod while the 16g wastegate is adjustible.

That'd be an ebay wastegate/hotside. Not necessarily a horrible thing since the hotsides are actually pretty strong, and the wastegate, when properly preloaded, is pretty good.

Do you have an aftermarket down pipe?

Flex sections on cheap downpipes have been known to callapse and cause no boost.

I run a ebay housing on my evo 3 and I have no problems what so ever. Theres another problem with the car. As it was working before and now its not.

Exhaust is completely stock. Wastegate moves a little when I jiggle it. Im going to try and put the 14b wg onit and see if it works better or ill try and tighten the slack on the wg thats on it now
