2G Interior Grey Plastic Paint Color

It`s been my experience it`s a hit or a miss with Sem Coat.. I have the color chart and there is no mention of color for the Mitsubishi . Hopefully the other fellow luck`s out and gets it right the first time and reports back .. I have been using this product for year and I still had to buy four colors until I got close to what I wanted. Ever since Mar-Hyde stop selling to the public and small businesses its been hard to match .

My O'reilly's paint matched my sons Red plastic interior color somehow and then put it into spray cans for him to redo his complete interior of his Camaro. It looks great and matches great too.

I completely forgot about O`reillys .. They have that scan tool that gives the perfect color match then they just mix the codes from the machine and bingo your off to the races .. Your one smart cookie Marty .. Good call

My SON was one smart cookie Larry. ;) He went through about 6 or 8 cans plus the self etching primer and adhesion promoter, which I will say the OP should use so that the paint will stick and not peel off. Gets a bit pricey but his sure looks nice, and red is hard to match. Plus a mid 80's Camaro has A LOT of plastic in it to restore.

;);) Everyone says the kids look like the mailman........... ROFL

The only problem I see with having them scan the piece is if the piece is faded or not as clean as new, the match won’t come out correct anyway.
I would scan the back side of the plastic to avoid matching sun fade. What brand paints do they index with the measurement tool?

You always have them color match the back side as @Justin DuBois has stated. That is how we matched all the red trim in my sons Camaro.
If I were the OP, I would repaint everything so it all matches and is all new.
Justin, I don't remember what brand they carry, but our store mixes a lot of paint along with selling parts. It was a brand I knew, but I'm not a painter, I build engines.

What paint do they use ... call O`Reilly`s and ask them.. I do know they add a flex agent just like for plastic bumpers.. Always wash the part to be painted real good .. I would not sand because you take any grain pattern out of the piece .. Use an etching primer ( or use sem`s coats activator) Gee Marty....ask Dorthy if I can borrow her red slippers and I can zip over and fix these guys up...

Which parts exactly are faded that you want to paint? I have a bunch of extra grey 2g interior pieces. I was keeping them as spares but I only drive the car once a week at most and I'm willing to free up some space on my shelves...

Ash trey lid
Center console kick panel screw covers (silver dollar sized caps)

Those, and I need to do some epoxy repair on the corners of the door panel arm rests. Having the right paint to cover the repair would be handy.

Please forgive me Justin.. I completely miss your question way back then... They can sacn any type of paint.. Don`t matter what it is.. It`s a hand help scanner so they can do it outside if need be just like a Timing Gun... I will be posting more info about this in the main menu so keep an eye out.

I ended up having a can mixed at a auto-paint distributor from SEM’s website that indicated a location with interior mix capabilities. They needed a part to match, and about 6hrs to turn it around.
