but not the typical "what's good?" or "How will this look?" question.

I'm working on a budget restoration of a 90 Laser RS-T with a tan/brown interior. Two of my panels in the hatch area have some modest scratches and some sun fading. The panels are that funky greenish-brown what ever color and I can't seem to find a rattle can that even comes close to matching. I don't want to change the interior color. I know I could go to a paint store and have some mixed but then it would have to be gunned on and there goes the budget. Does anyone know a brand of spray paint that is a close match for this odd ball color?

Thanks

You can have it mixed for you like you said and then go to home depot in the paint section they have a $5 spary gun with a glass jar attatched to add your own paint. Very cheap and easy. Ive used it several times with great success. just make sure to prep the area correctly before you paint.

Usually any paint store will color match for free. I did this when painting some interior peices of my car. I asked for a trial container of it. it was a very small container. It was a little larger than the size of thoes old milk cartons you got at school. It only cost me about 8 dollars.

Make sure you prep it right, use a cleaning agent that brings the dirt to the surface. Use a adhesion promoter. I use bulldog. Use a plastic paint or you will regret it. SEM has alot of good products, and VHT has a color called MITSUBISHI GRAY, which is an exact match to 1gs gray. Most good paint stores can mix paint to your color and put it in a rattle can for you. Plus hardware stores sell refillable rattle cans that have valves to recharge it with air from a bike pump and fill it with paint. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys. I guess I'm off to the paint store then.

I agree that bulldog promoter is the shizzle. I did some custom stuff on a Ralliart Lancer I had and the bulldog earned it's keep with me. I just went to the local paint shop and they took the paint code, lightening yellow, and before you know it I was on my way with 2 rattle cans of factory match paint. Good luck and post some pics of the project/finish product. ;)
